    Extreme trailer ball size

The trailer is for a 2001 tige 2100v but I doubt tht matters. Anyway I just need to know the ball size, I don't have access to the trailer but I am picking it up tomorrow and was planning on stopping by autozone on the way

My understanding is that, currently, Extreme is using 2-inch for 22' and below, and 2-5/16 for the 24-footers. The 2-5/16 may be a somewhat recent change because I'm pretty sure the Extreme trailer I had with my 2005 24V had a 2-inch ball.

Give the model year and size of your boat, I'm almost certain that would be a 2-inch.

What he said. I think the change happened sometime around 2008ish.

wow, i've been using a 1 7/8" ball the whole time. Does that 1/8" matter?

That is really not all that safe. Not sure you want to let everyone know you ball is an 1/8th inch to small....

Yes it matters. Please check your trailer and get a 2" ball if indicated on the trailer although I would find it hard to beleive your trailer would be a 1 7/8. 95% sure it should be a 2

Mine is 2 inch for my 2005 extreme. I would suggest buy both sizes and return the one that you dont need.

All about weight ratings... the 24 foot boats weigh more than the 22 obviosuly so a heavier ball is needed. A typical weight limit for a 2" is 6000 lbs but many come with 5000 lb limits prolly need to check and make sure that the ratings are not exceeded. a 2 5/16" ball has limits of 10000 commonly. so i would say make sure you have more carrying capacity than what you are actually carrying.

I personally have a rapid hitch that has the 2" with 8000 lb limit and 2 5/16" with 10,000 lb limit. my boat weighs in around 5000-5500 when fueled and loaded and we commonly have people ride in boat on trailer so take all factors into consideration!!
