At what depth is your depth alarm set for and why?

I will test out the guage first and then go from there. I don't know whether it's a good reading or a bad one. Just thought about asking since I saw this post. If it's bad I will probably try to find a manual but thought someone on here would pipe in and cut the corner on that. Thank you for sharing. Cool guage you have to have the screen change like that.

This is what my helm looks like. If yours looks similar, I can dig out the manual and find out how to adjust the depth gauge. I access the menu system on the center MFD with the speed set control on the right side of the dash.

hahah...nope....my 2005 doesn't quite look like that.. But thanks for trying. I will look into this at some point over the winter season. Just thought it would something here would just pop up and say here is how you do it or you're out of luck. Again, thanks for your interest.

I flipped through my Hummingbird manual and it does have a 'KO' Keel Offset setting where I can set it to read the depth from the waterline or the Keel instead of the location of the tranducer.

On my boat, you press SET until the "KO" icon is displayed on the screen. Then default setting of the unit is off which is displayed as zero. From the default (0.0) user the DOWN or UP arrow depend on if you want waterline or keel to set the distance from the transducer to the level you want to gauge.

That's for my Hummingbird HDR600, but I would suspect most Hummingbirds are similar.

How do you know what kind of depth gauge is on your boat? I haven't a clue where to look. Tige gauges in my dash. Where do I find this info out? Maybe in the owner's manual? I am new to these boats. I have played around with the gauges a little bit and have figured out how to switch from water temp to air temp and things like that. But nothing more. I tried pressing the up/down arrows when I selected one of the several display settings and seemed like nothing happened. But then maybe I just didn't see what was going on. Just seemed to beep when I pressed the up/down arrows. There is an "m" at the bottom that changes what is displayed. Any ideas?

You can on those, I just dont remember how. They are Faria gauges... I think it was in a book though.

As a side note….. I keep an eye on the shore and if it tends to be flat I assume under the water is similar. If I see a bunch if rocky outcrops I’m looking for the same structure under water… All this leads to how fast I might get into trouble. Quick rock out crops or a gentle shore getting shallow. So I would set it deeper if I think it might get shallow quickly. (Rocky steep shore)

I have those gauges. I didn't know the depth alarm was adjustable. Actually I didn't even know there was a depth alarm.

I occasionally set my alarm when I'm in an area that I know gets shallow. Mainly to warn me when I'm getting too close to the shallow areas. Generally, I set it at 10'-15' depending on what I'm doing.

You have Faria gauges with an Airmar Tri-ducer.

hmmmm.....well googling that info, I come up with some info for newer models but don't seem to be able to find older model manuals. And reading how to set things on the new models don't seem to follow the same steps on mine (the older model). Should I talk to Tige or a dealer to see about getting more info on this? I'm just looking for a something to show me how to set it. And I am interested too in checking out where the air temp sensor is because it seems to really ready differently than actual air temp.

So, should I just talk to Tige or a dealer for Tige?

The Faria info is under the "Manuals" tab in the "Downloads" section. From 08 on Tige switched to Medallion Marine Instruments.

Did you get er figured EMBO? I had the same dash in my old boat, sounds like you found the right info...if you didn't let me know. I remember how to set it.
