Maximum weight in rear locker

My wife and I just recently purchased a 2004 22v. I am wondering what is the maximum recommended weight for a rear locker? I have been using a 450lb sac for surfing but it seems like it could use a bit more weight. I'd like to put maybe 1100lbs in there but I dont want to overdo it.

Also, is it really better to have bow sac(s) as well? and what is a good weight to shoot for?

Welcome to the site, and thanks for starting out with a pic of your boat! I also have a 2004 22v, but I am not much help since I don't run ballast. However, from reading this site everyday for over a year now, you can run that 1100 pound sac in the rear locker, but you probably won't be able to fill it all the way. Would not be overdoing it. You will want ballast in the front in order to make the wave longer.

Someone with more expertise will weigh in and give you better advice I am sure. Again - welcome!

You definitely want some front ballast as well. The best way to do it is to have a 4 bag set up. Two in the back and two in the front.

You might also want to trim your swim platform down to get it out of the wake.

The other thing you need is an FAE. It would be the first thing on my list.

I have the same boat except in white. On the port side I run a W712 Fly High Enzo in the rear and a single W701 in the front. The surf wake is pretty nice. I would recommend upgrading the prop to a Acme 1235 also, I was running a Acme 537 before. Chpthril hooked me up this past winter.

I have a 2003 22v and just put in my custom bags this winter. I was able to get about 1400 port side and 1600 on the starbord side. Also needs at least a ow sac and probalby more in the bow. Im currently testing it out and will be posting pics soon.

You could easily load that 22V up with 1500-2000 lbs of surf ballast. Ballpark on a Tige is to sink the rubrail to the water line.

Front ballast: Personal preference. Adding front ballast will shorten the height and lengthen the pocket.

Isn't there a weight limit for rear lockers? My boat has a factory label that says you cant exceed their limit #. I believe its somewhere under 200 pounds. What am i missing here? Could someone clarify this
