How much would the fine be for still having it on the lake? Maybe it would be "worth the risk", after all we have had the event now for 5 or 6 years and haven't had an issue. What are the chances of actually being cited, and how much would the fine be? I'm sure that Tall would be willing to cover the fine if it's only a few hundred bucks. If he doesn't reply within the next 24 hours, I would conclude that he agrees with that.

Well we do have to give him a chance to get back from Lake Powell to respond at the end of the week. BUT on the other hand since he is at Lake Powell and we are not for the week should we give him the time to respond.

HAHA! You guys are too funny.

A friend of mine (I would never do such) has had a 3rd bail on him at the last minute when doing a morning wakeboard trip. He just asked his buddy if he was willing to split the ticket if they got one for not having an observer. Especially when there is no one else at the lake.

Same principle applies here. It might be nice to just do it anyway. I have never seen a water cop north of Echo.

I am not sure how to go about asking how much the ticket would be. Maybe it would need to be in the context of a Mastercraft reunion someone was planning in July.
          Be excellent to one another.

Yea, I knew that he was at Powell, that's why I only gave him a week. So since he didn't repsond, he's on the hook for the fine, right?

Tall, how was your trip to Powell, trip report?

I think we will still have everything there, just no banners. The Aquapalooza (sp) event raised the issue of having events on Federal Land and now they are being more aware of the fact that it's been happening. When Herb form Echo Bay mentioned it last year, it was because they had brought it to his attention and he didn't want anyone to get in trouble. having a "reunion" with family and friends is perfectly legal, it's the "sponsorship" and "advertisement" they dislike. I think we will do the meet and greet at the dealer, assuming the offer still stands, like we have done at BWW in years past. The freebies can either be given then or drawn for the day of and picked up at the dealership. This creates less hassle and keeps "them" happy. Thoughts?

If we can't "sponsor" directly, this is the next best thing! We can still do the sandwich or BBQ lunch on the lake Sat and there will still be the Pro Riders, nothing really changes.

I've got my fingers crossed for no major breakdowns this year. I was really excited about a Tige meet up 2 years ago, but all the trip money went to the repair shop.

Let's get this thing back up and running! I've started the calls for sponsorship and have a few confirmations! I'll be in touch with Tige in the next few days/week and have confirmed everything with the Echo Bay Marina. I'd like to reach out to anyone that could make a call or two, reach out to a local business/dealer, or even send me information on possible other sponsors. I want to get the shirts ordered in the next few weeks which means sponsor logos, confirmed orders and then printing time....so help me out! More to come!

I'll be bringing all my tools, scanner and maybe even a spare motor and A-frame?...We have a houseboat trip the next week leaving friday morning but I've been itching to get to a reunion since I bought this thing. What is it that's being "sponsored" anyway? Maybe can "sponsor" something too...

Generally speaking, we have a raffle for items donated by sponsors. In the after reunion wrap up, the sponsors get lots of praise and publicity. It is probably more effective, IMO, than putting up ads on Wakeworld. It also gets some product out there.

Like Tall said, it's a way to get the business name and product out there. Some of last year's sponsors include: Tige, Wet Sounds, ACME, Babes, Boat Bling, Mike's Liquid Audio, Haney's Auto Marine Care, Wake 9, as well as others from past years. We typically make shirts and list the sponsors on the back and the online praise is priceless!

Has anyone contacted Speakesox? I think they have contributed in the past, and I wonder if they might again.

Jim is in for a full boat voucher again this year! Talked to him on Thurs or Fri of last week! Anyone have other potential sponsors that we can bring to the table? I talked to Inland Surfer today but they have nothing again this year....not even a rope!
