ive been boatless for a while now and was looking to an rz2 pretty hard but now with the new z3 my opinion is changing we mainly wakeboard and surf but i wanted to get some others ideas on which boat is there favorite, i already have them designed, it boils down to i like the rz2 and the wife likes the z3.

As far as I have seen the Z3 wakeboard wake is pretty much unknown. I have the impression that the redesigned Z3 was pretty well made for surfing.

The original Z3 wakeboard wake was, ummm, suboptimal, to say the least. But the hull has been changed since then and it has dramatically improved the surf wave, but I have not seen too much commentary on the wakeboard wake yet.

According to the information the redesign of the Z3 took into account both surfing and wakeboarding. I have not seen the wake for wakeboarding but they took input from some pros similar to how they took input from the Wake9 gang for surfing.

It sounded like Tige was going for a boat that would be an awesome wakeboarding and surfing boat.

Not to be negative, but that is what they said the first time around too.

I hope we can get some real world reviews and pics soon. If it throws a wakeboard wake like a 24V, Tige is in the money.

good point i forgot about that and i def know that the rz2 has a killer wakeboard wave, im not in a big hurry to purchase so hopefully we can get some positive feedback on the z3 as soon as some start gettn on the water.

I didn't see it in person but the pictures that I saw of it were pretty good. Also, from talking to Tony F., he said the Pro's were ecstatic about it.

I hope to get a set in behind a Z3 soon now the Rz2 correctly weighted or just stock is killer with the 2,000lbs in it and for surfing the boat is rock solid! There are so many ups to each boat that it'd come down to what I would say your main purpose would be for example: pleasure and wake boarding or pleasure and surfing or maybe a combo deal. A lot of different roles can play into retrospect on what one to pick.

What did you see the pics? Was it from the boat we had at the Mead event or the reworked hull? The boat we had the Mead event had a fairly poor wake-board wake. Its best shape was with no ballast.
