I suppose a really ghetto "solution" would be to put a separate power switch to the Medallion module. I don't think it's involved with actually running the engine (can anyone confirm?), just reporting what's going on and sending throttle control when SpeedSet is engaged.Originally posted by BOATMONKEY View PostI'm not so much bothered by the occasional cruise control miss, I just don't want to have to stop, turn off my boat, and restart the engine just to have a working screen.
When you stop your engine to get your screen back, all you're really doing is cycling power to the electronics. A manual switch would permit you to do that without turning off the engine. Ever notice that when you start the engine, the gauges and LCD's are sometimes blank for a moment? That's the controller powering up. You could do that manually by cycling power.
Personally, I would NOT be satisfied with such a solution. However, it might be a stopgap until you get things properly fixed. WARNING: I'd only cycle power when idling and out of gear.
Just thinking out loud....

Update:
Talked with Tige and Medallion today. They are sending me a new screen unit. They said if that doesnt work they will replace the Engine ECM and I will have to take my boat to Tige to get that done and calibrated, etc. Again, I want to thank Tige and Medallion for responding to my problem. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.Last edited by BOATMONKEY; 11-11-2011, 01:23 AM.

Here Ye Here Ye!!!
Good News to share!!
Went out yesterday for over 2 hrs and zero freeze ups or cruise control misses. I am so pumped. I was really beginning to sweat this issue and had visions of a lemon. Tige sent me a new VDig screen and I installed it myself very easily.
I want to personally thank Harvey at Tige for his help with this issue. He always answered my calls and emails.
What a relief.
Was a bad screen unit.
I replaced the black box and uploaded the new software without any luck until I replaced the screen itself.
Love the boat even more now.

That's awesome! Great news! Glad it has worked out!Originally posted by BOATMONKEY View PostWent out yesterday for over 2 hrs and zero freeze ups or cruise control misses. I am so pumped.
I am thrilled for the rest of us too - if we (continue to) have problems we all know there is a fix out there and a company willing to stand behind their products!
Keep us posted as you continue to enjoy your Tige!
