I'm not sure what your VHF is going to do for you! My wife's uncle passed out down your way and it took the EMS 45 minutes to get there (we were in Biscoe) so maybe that was it. We were glad he wasn't having a heart attack or something.

Lol, On badin lake, I doubt the VHF is going to do much for me. I may be able to throw it at a passing jet ski to get there attention. It is still charged up and in the boat.

There is a Coast Guard auxiliary station at Badin, but not during the week.

I was in the Coast Guard stationed in Washington DC so I am familiar with the area the accident occurred.

Salt water boaters should always have a VHF with them. The Coast Guard does not encourage use of cell phones for boating.

Starting in 2004 the Coast Guard has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to upgrade there radio monitoring and can triangulate a distress call down to a few meters of accuracy.

Insurance covered everything, I have an attorney and am going after the guy. I will miss my Tige'

DC - Good to hear you are getting take care of. Enjoy the Malibu. Before we bought our Tige it was between that and a Malibu. I do not think pictures do the MSX justice need to see one in person. However, post pictures of the build and when you get it so we can all get a sneak peak of the new Bu.

DC, Glad you got most everything worked out and if you've not heard Malibu is now calling it the MXZ. I got some photos from the factory this morning of a white/black one and it is sweet!
