I just purchased a 2006 tige 22Ve from a private owner. When we tested the TAPS system it worked fine. Yesterday when we went out to the lake it just made a clicking sound. Any ideas on what it may be? By the way I have been dreaming of this boat for years.

Welcome to the site, JonG. I hope to see you out at the lake sometime. I am in St. George also. There are a number of us from the area who are active on the site.Originally posted by JonG View PostI just purchased a 2006 tige 22Ve from a private owner. Good luck with the TAPS. My buddy is working through the same problem with his 2006 24Ve. His is hydraulic, and has been a complicated troubleshooting problem for him.
Sometimes a gentle tap with a hammer on the piston helps if it is just bound up. Had the boat been sitting for a long time?Be excellent to one another.

Welcome aboard John. I am not sure if yours is hydraulic or not but if so check the pump. I had my pump tip over leaking out the fluid. whiched caused this same type of noise for me.Originally posted by JonG View PostI just purchased a 2006 tige 22Ve from a private owner. Yep. My old 21V had the same problem. It clicked and it was the relay. Good luck.Originally posted by dom w. forte View PostTheres a relay under the dash ,that is the most common failure, it is normally located just in front of the shifter in that year and is black about 2 inches square.

Not trying to be argumentative, but those auto shop relays are completely different. I searched high and low for a replacement when mine went bad. I did figure out how I could use 2 auto relays to accomplish the same thing, but in the end it seemed too jerry-rigged on such a big investment. The relays are like $175ish from Tige, so I still haven't replaced mine.Originally posted by bfrank View PostMost auto part stores have these relays.
If I'm wrong, I'd love to have the part # to the relay that will work as the original black box Tige relay works.Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
