That's the question. Trying to decide if we should buy a new RZR or look for a nice year or two old RZ2. What do you all think? Obviously, we would have to find the RZ2. If you know of any, please let me know.

do you have a price range?do you want certain features?what will be your main focus?how many people will be regulars on this boat?the more we know the easier it is to help.the rz2 has been out since 07. the alpha z tower since 09.now do you see where i'm heading.what do you really want and need in your boat?I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Yeah, I guess a little more info might help. I'm around the $60K-$65K range. Wife wants it around $50K, but she's coming around and sending me boats she finds over $60K. When I said a year or two old, its because I definitely want the alpha z tower. The touchscreen is also a big plus. Its more of a hanging out with friends, leisure boat first, wakeboarding second. We'll definitely do plenty of boarding, but nothing hardcore. I'd say we'll have 6 or 8 on the boat regularly and we'll be hauling it to a couple of different lakes. Does that help?Originally posted by robert theisen View Postdo you have a price range?do you want certain features?what will be your main focus?how many people will be regulars on this boat?the more we know the easier it is to help.the rz2 has been out since 07. the alpha z tower since 09.now do you see where i'm heading.what do you really want and need in your boat?

yes your price range will put you exactly where you are asking.you should be able to get a well equipped new RZR or a well equipped 2 year old RZ2.the things i found out after i bought my 07 ve [which is for sale officially now].i wanted tower speakers[which i added].i wakeboard alot so ballast was a necessity, but when i bought the boat i didn't know i would go so crazy over wakeboarding.our 22ve has loads of room.the main reason i'm buying a new RZ2 is convienence and looks.i want automated ballast. i have bags with a pump now.secondly the alphaZ tower.i fell in love at first sight.when we bought our boat the salesman tried to talk me into a rz2 and ballast.i thought he was just padding the sale.he was looking out for my future interest.you should think long and hard about what you want.that way you don't have regrets about your purchase.on the new RZ2 that we ordered we got just about every option you could get.except one's we would never use[like saltwater options].we only boat in lakes and clean rivers.i think the RZR IS A VERY SHARP BOAT.i especially like the accent stripe.it will take less weight to make a big wake because it has a 94" beam.the RZ2 has a 102" beam so it requires more weight.both boats are great all around boats.8 people[adults]in the RZR is full IMPO.more would be tight. The RZ2 will hold 2-3 more comfortably ,but 15 no way. i would suggest demo's and bring friends with you to get a real world test. make a list of everything you like and want to find out.that way you don't forget when you get excited.you will get excited as these boats are everything you can imagine.i am totally satisfied with mine.it was my fault i didn't get all the options i want now.i think i have fixed that with the new boat though.GOOD LUCK and happy boating.Originally posted by sooner25 View PostYeah, I guess a little more info might help. I love the white/graphite color scheme on that one. And looks like a great price.Originally posted by talltigeguy View PostIf you have 60K to spend, then you are retarded if you don't get this one...

I do agree with Robert that, if you have eight adults on board regularly, you may want to lean toward the RZ2.

IT'S happening already.Don't get focused on a price. That's not what you asked?Make a list with options and colors you like. Then find a boat that fits.Don't get me wrong. It's great that your getting boats posted for you to look at.That is what you asked.I'm just reading between the lines. The tone is changing to this is the best price.Remember your buying a boat, that you will own for years. So think down the road.GOOD LUCK!I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

He has not given us many options to work with...but the few he has mentioned are in the boats I and lwndr presented.Originally posted by sooner25 View PostYeah, I guess a little more info might help. Robert, are you saying that the reference to a boat that meets his options list and price was bad advice? And you are totally right...we have a lot of eyes on the Tige world on this board, and if he gives us more options, we can find something for him, but sounds like he has not yet thought through every option.Last edited by talltigeguy; 02-26-2011, 03:01 PM.Be excellent to one another.

tall not at all. i think more advice is better.i'm certainly not always right.just ask my wife?i'm rarely right.i was just cautioning SOONER about getting focused on price instead of what he wants to have in a boat.I too like you get defensive if i read into someones comments what i think they meant.what i meant is "don't get focused on price"focus on what you want, then see if it fits your price.i hope you understand i have great respect for everyone on this site.i just have trouble relaying what i'm thinking.i may have worded it wrong.i'm sorry if i have upset you in any way.Originally posted by talltigeguy View PostMy advice was EXACTLY what he asked for. I agree with Tall if you dont take a serious look at that boat your crazy. That boat has a ton of options and is a STEAL. At that price you could easily add any option (except factory tower camera)and still be in that boat at a hell of a deal. Ok you couldnt change the motor either but you get the point. If you like the look (colors) that boats a no brainer IMPO.

i agree totally kevin.i was just making a general statement.focous on what you want in a boat.then if you get that and it's a deal, thats a bonus.Originally posted by kko View PostI agree with Tall if you dont take a serious look at that boat your crazy. But thats why i think that boat is so good its got ALOT of the "must have" options IMPO and thats why it makes it so hard to pass on IMPO. Plus its black and grey my favorite color combos so it would be a homerun for me. Now only if I could get him to give me 50k trade on my 03 I would be all over it!!

I saw this one last night. I love that boat, but both of these are in Utah. I'm in OK. It might be worth the drive, but I'd really like to stay at least two states away. Unless they will ship......Originally posted by Iwndr View PostBeautiful Boat

It sounds like I'm going to be leaning more towards the RZ2 from all of your input, which I greatly appreciate!!! I think that's what I originally wanted anyway and I tried to convince myself that the RZR will work.
As for the options, I'm not totally sure what all I should be looking for. Like I said, the alpha z tower is a must. Tige Touch is a huge plus and I do want some ballast.
As far as color goes, I like black with bright colors, but I also love the white alpha tower.
These are my dream boats. I just don't think I can go that high. I know that it won't make a difference in 3 years that I spent the extra money, but I don't think I can do it right now.

I do really like this colorway and the boat, but again, its in Utah. Is there an easy way to ship these things or get them to a dealer closer to me?
