Fellas. What would be a good deal on this boat?

What about surfing? The past couple years I have been behind an 09 RZ2. How will this boats wake compare. I understand that the factory ballast will need to be added too but are there any other concerns?

All maintenance and service has been performed at this dealer and I was told the only thing that has been changed is the impellers and or the battery. They did not ,mention any tower issues but I will ask.
I mentioned that this boat would look better with a silver tower. Any thoughts?

It's close to or the same hull has the RZ2. IMO, they hulls are slightly different with the RZ having a larger rocker bottom. But, no one from Tige has said what the differences are on this forum to confirm IMO.

Example, I was told by the West Coast rep 3 years ago what I just said however others say differently.

The 22Ve starts to respond well at about 600lbs and really comes alive with 1000K. It likes all the weight in the back, but adding a little up front will lengthen the pocket, but only after you get the right amount in the back. This boat can surf as slow as 10 and up to 12.5 MPH.

We have 07 22Ve with factory ballast and like to surf. We have 400 lb fatsac add-on and 1200 Tsunami pump for manual fill and it works nicely w pretty good wave. We got our stuff from Chpthril. Chpthril, Surfdad and Ragboy are the major surf experts and you might check out the surf forum and ballast forum on this website for more info. We love our boat and so far its working great.Good Luck

That seems to fit with the 09 RZ2 i was talking about earlier. We end up right around 11.5 and down to 10.5 with 1100 lbs. I am assuming the factory ballast will be somewhere around 450 each side and 250 up front? I asked but they weren't for sure.
What would you change about your 06, if given the chance?

whoops. fatsac is aft port locker with TAPS at 5-6 and 9.5-10.5 mph typically w just 2people in the boat. Slower and the wave collapses. this past weekend we had 4-5 BIG people in the boat and wave was HUGE. Playing around w faster speed which tends to flatten the wave but lengthen sweet spot pocket but this is our 2nd yr so we keep playing - alot.

Thanks for in-put. This will potentially be my first official boat, and my main focus will be surfing. I'm hoping that a simple change in the ballast size will be all that's needed.

Factory ballast is 400 up front and two 250lb tanks in the back for a total of 900lb's

If surfing was the main focus, i would yank out the factory tank(s) and make room for larger sacs. I would plug the transom ballast intake and go with a thru-hull.

from then link I provided earlier - the pic of the bag looked to me to be bigger than 250. I wonder if they have changed bags to a bit bigger. That would be a good thing from the sounds of it
