    2010 Z1 high idle issue

    Howdy,
I bought my first boat a few weeks ago. Very clean 2010 Tige Z1 with a PCM 5.0 MPI. I'm a fairly experienced dirtbike mechanic but havent really dug into cars/boats much.

While on the water test, old owner explained sometimes it did a high idle when coming off throttle. He was able to recreate the scenario on the test drive. His fix was to turn the boat off and on again. I went out the next day and ran the boat for 2 hours, starting, stopping, no idle issues.

Now today I take it out, and during a surf session it start high idling. it jumps up to about 1200 Rpm in neutral.

Boat has 245 hours, regular service, oil pressure, voltage, temp gauge are all within normal limits. No check engine lights or codes being thrown on the dash. There was even a point when it was around 1200rpm in neutral, when trying to engage transmission it would jump up to 2000-3000 rpm. I pulled the resister plate which was kind of dirty with carbon buildup and cleaned it, and the throttle body had some light gunk that i wiped off. It looked like it has an electronic throttle body. I disconnected the electrical connection and it was clean, no bent leads, and found nothing remarkable. I'm taking it back out tomorrow and hoping I have some ideas from you fine people about what could possibly be going on.
    Thank you!
