Forgot to install engine manifold crossover plug

    Hello everyone,

took my 2017 tige z3 out for the maiden voyage of summer and didn’t make it far. Noticed a sound after a Couple of minutes and realized the crossover plug did not get reinstalled after winterizing.

it started throwing codes at the very end and went into limp mode due to the check engine light coming on. Engine ran for maybe 8 minutes.

should I expect any long term damage from this saga?

    codes thrown SPN 441 FMI 15 & SPN 442 FMI 15

    thanks for any help

What did your engine temps get to? You shut it off right away after the codes? The crossover line is one of the main drains on a raptor so you would have been running with little to no water past there.

After reinstalling plugs and letting engine cool down did the codes go away? If it didn’t get too hot things should be fine. I would check and ideally replace your impeller just to be safe.

Engine temps got to 173 before I killed the motor. When I opened the floor chest, the line was blowing hot air.

I shut it off after the codes. And they went away after re installing the plug.
