OJ 1770 prop

Has anyone tried the OJ 1770 ( 17x17 with .120 cup ) on their boat? I have the 741 now ( 16.5x16.5 MF ) currently. I think the 17x17 would drop surf RPMS and give a few more MPH on top. I have 21 - RZX 22 with 440

Based on prop theory, you will likely get what you are after. With wanting to lower the surf RPM, id be careful what you wish for. Surfing is the most loaded the engine will likely ever be, for any extended time period. So in a perfect world, we would want the engine with in its HP and torque window sweet spot. Lowering the RPM too much and its like going up hill while holding the transmission in overdrive. Loweing the RPM, while maintaining the same load/surf speed, could result in the engine working harder. This could = increased GPH.

Next question, whats the current top speed, and how much more do you need?
