Slingshot is decent and easy to learn on. Liquid force makes some good options, not familiar enough to remember models.

I don't have a dealer nearby, so I called lots of online dealers and found Mackites.com gave me great advice.
I got to ride with some local guys last year and they recommended to spend the money up front on quality stuff instead of buying a beginner setup that you quickly outgrow.
I ordered a Slingshot dwarfcraft micro with Axis mast and foil and can't wait to get on it this summer.

I started foiling last year and am completely addicted to the point that I only surfed once and foiled the rest of the time. There's nothing like it and no other watersport or boardsport transfers over....it's a whole new game to learn and a lot of fun. Yes, the Slingshot option or Liquid Force options can be good beginner boards but, if you really think you will get in to it I'd tell you to just pay up front and get either an Armstrong, Axis, Lift, or Freedom Foil Boards set up. Armstrong and Axis seem to be the most popular with Armstrong leading from what I see and read.

I bought a set up from a local dealer up here in BC and just sold my board and awaiting the dealers to get their new Armstrong shipments in so I can upgrade. I'd also like to get an Axis (Wakethief) lower end for a full pumping set up.
