02 22i Taps Setting and Surfing

Sorry if this isn’t in the right forum area, and mods can move if needed.

I have a 2002 22i with the originals TAPS system and has a question about the setting of the taps plate when surfing. I run about 800 lbs of ballast in the rear lockers plus whatever people I have on board, plus I’ll be trying a 375 lb bag up front this weekend to see if it helps the boat plane out a little more to lengthen the wave.

My question is about the TAPS plate in general. Does the wakeboard setting move the plate up towards the swim platform or down? And I always forget to adjust it when we surf, so wanted to get some input from you guys? What setting should it be in when surfing? Thanks

Wakeboard setting is where the TAPS plate is up and slalom is TAPS plate down. With the TAPS plate up, it allows for the Convex hull to be sucked into the water creating pseudo ballast.

May want to search the forum for Nickypoo's posts, he has a 22i of that era that he has setup for surfing.
