I was at Tahoe on Tuesday and it was down 4-5 feet from full but they are dumping, river was pumping. Not much snow left up there. I rode Homewood a couple weeks ago and it now it’s completely dry on the face.

This was with 350# lead in the bow, full ballast, 500# lead in the surf locker, and like 8 people on the boat, at 12mph. I want to say 4-5° lean, and 9° bow rise. Should have been pretty close to everything dialed, and it’s tall, but I’m still not getting a ton of length out of it. I was even in the 13mph range for awhile. I’ll bump the bow weight up next time out, but it gets tough because of taking water over the bow.

Definitely wasn’t a depth issue. We were in 200’-300’ of water there. You think the prop has any affect on the wave, as far as shape?? There’s plenty of push, it’s hard to not hit the back of the boat, or bury the nose of your board coming off the wave.Originally posted by UNSTUCK View PostLooks very familiar. The curl at the back was about as long as the face. I attributed that to shallow water as it seemed to go away or get shorter (face gets longer) in deep water (powell/mead). But we never wanted more push. That was never an issue. Never surfed over 12mph.

Maybe this is where I try to figure out that 16” prop then. I could never get ahold of that wizard from acme, I can’t remember his name.
And that’s weird you say that, Josh, because my goofy side is far better than my regular side.
I messed with speed anywhere from 10.8-13. Higher speeds lengthened it, but the difference from 12-13 wasn’t much. The difference from 10.8-12 was pretty significant. I’ll pull some of the weight from the locker and try some more bow weight next time. Hopefully the fix is that simple.
Is it possible to be running too much weight? Although I tried with less water, so that doesn’t seem likely. Must just be where I have the weight in the boat. How much do your PnPs weigh? 750 each? I can’t remember.

I have two brothers that ride the regular side. The wave from my old rzx3 was so much better on that side. Made me jealous. We're taking probably twice as long and much taller. My PNPs were 550's.
Seems like I recall Jason saying these boats would get to a point were more weight didn't help any more. I think you run far more lead than anyone else, in place of the PNP bags, so there might be something with that. I don't recall what his magic number was. It's in some of those old threads, but they are so hard to find now on this new forum.

Maybe there’s more to prop then, unless I just suck at setting my regular side up. My regular side is taller and steeper, but has no length to it. We have more goofy riders, so I’ve spent more time messing with the right side, so it could be as simple as that.
I almost took my old prop last weekend, since we were at lower elevation, just to play with and see if I could tell a difference, now I wish I had. Couldn’t find my prop wrench, and was running too late to go grab another one.
Maybe it’s as simple as some of that weight distribution. I can’t see how I could be that much heavier than guys running PnP and some lead. Sometimes we have big crews, but last weekend it was mostly girls and only 2 bigger dudes.
Where are your swim decks, when you guys are sunk, and sitting still? That might be a good indicator. Mine is 4”-6” under water.

I haven’t been out there in a month, but we’ve had some pictures going around, and it’s lower than it was a month ago. When I was out there, it was about the level it was at mid September, last year, and that was around 9’ deep at shallowest, going from like 11 to the narrows. There was still about 40’ of water on the Fallon side when it was like that. I’ve never camped over there, but willing to give it a shot if it buys us an extra month out there.Originally posted by NICKYPOO View Post
I was out a few weeks ago for a test drive. It was not looking good. It hasn’t gotten any better. Dropping 500 acre feet a day. Stupid Fallon. Our side might last another week or two.
We’re talking about hitting rye patch to try it out. And guess it’s back to pyramid if this turns out to be a multi year deal, again. As much as I hate to say that.

Maybe more bow weight and less lead in the locker will do that. I was in that 8°-9° range that’s supposed to be money, but who knows. I’m starting to wonder how accurate the bow rise and lean indicator is, on the touch screen is, and also starting to wonder more about the prop. Something is just a little off.Originally posted by Bamer View PostLonger boats tend to have longer waves, so getting the pitch down some should get more hull in the water and lengthen the wave....at least in theory...

Talked to Jim at Acme for like half an hour this AM, and the 16” prop isn’t going to work for me, until I put. 1.75:1 or 2:1 drive in there. If they had a 16”x11”, maybe, they just don’t make one with a low enough pitch for me. If anyone needs info on prop setup, and I know it’s been said here before, that guy is a huge wealth of knowledge.
Guess it’s back to finding a 1.75:1...
I’m guessing that wave is a little washed out from the prop. I have a rooster tail, when wakeboarding, and talking to him, the prop is definitely the reason why.
