    Speedometers

I am remodeling aa 1999 21i as a crossover boat, we will be running a slalom course with it. The old speedos were eaten up by rats. What are your thoughts on the GPS speedometers?

You get what you pay for is my opinion. Similar situation, neither of my speedos worked. I bought a Faria GPS to match the rest of the gauges. Seems to work fairly good, on the worse end I'd say +/- 0.2MPH. So for surfing we still use the tach but might be good for skiing (honestly no idea how sensitive to speed slalom is).

If you are running the slalom course, then I would look at Perfect Pass Stargazer. Depending on how serious you get you can add 3 event which will let you map the course and provide accurate timings.

I don't run the course, but still ski. I replaced both of mine. Like h2o-ski suggested, I replaced one with a perfect pass Stargazer and had the other one rebuilt with new GPS guts. I'm not sure there is anybody out there rebuilding them.
