    Data Port location???

My mechanic cannot find the data port on my '06 22ve. The engine (Marine Power 6.0L) has been stalling out and he needs to hook it up to see what engine diagnostic codes show up. He has looked in the engine compartment, but can't seem to locate it. Can anyone tell me where he should look?

On top of the engine. Around the ecm area. My pigtail was mounted under the TAC module

Capped plug. Stbd side, top of engine in back. Between riser and intake

You sure this is the guy you want working on your boat?
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

Alright, alright... Now let's be nice! LOL

I definitely understand your concerns, BUT he had worked on my previous boat and was always fair and reasonable. So, I trust him tremendously!

NOW, IN HIS DEFENSE... I did finally find the data port! However, it was not where it was believed to be... it was VERY hidden! It was tucked up under the overflow tank of the closed loop cooling system. I had to take the center section of the rear seat out, in order to get it plugged in! Whew!!!!

Thanks again freeheel4life for the photos... Even though it wasn't where it SHOULD have been, at least they showed me what I was looking for!

Good, I think we're all glad to hear you have experience with this mechanic and there was an anomaly finding the port connection. I come across tons of fly-by-night ding dongs and thought this thread might turn into another one of those stories!!!
