exactly.Originally posted by Timmy! View PostIt should be at the back of the boat on the bottom in the center, near the drain plug.
Check to see if you also have some carpet fibers blocking the strainer also. That might be your issue.
Are you heading out to Camp Far West this weekend? Saturday?

there is no way to get my hand back behind the motor i took it to the shop here in town he quoted me 300.00 because he has to take apart the engine just to get to itOriginally posted by da.bell View PostDid you take the screen off and clear out the carpet fibers? The pump could have gone bad like you are pointing out.
Yes, we will be there around 10 AM in my RZ.

You have to remove the rear panel to where the battery(s) and access to the engine would be in the lockers. You can't just go straight down from the top of the engine.
One reason why I made sure that I can get into my back area with the RZ before I bought it.
$300???? he is nuts. The pump is $50 (appx) so his labor would be $250???? What is that dude smoking?????

Larry, I had mine clogged with carpet fibers too. Light would come on but nothing would happen. I could reach it from the engine compartment, but I'm 6'6" so I have longer arms than most. I think we have almost the same boat. I wish I was going to Camp Far West this weekend but my wife is on bed rest until next week with our baby on the way.Attached Files

Mine looked exactly like that when I forgot the plug...yes, I am an idiot. And it was a bad time to notice the bilge pumps were fried. I have 2 bilge pumps, and one of them was burned up and the other had the circuit breaker pop. My starter went out this spring as that it is on the bottom of the motor...$125 consequence of what happened in the fall I am sure. It could have been worse, I did not leave the boat unattended for very long or it would have been on the bottom of the lake.Originally posted by Ptown View PostLarry, I had mine clogged with carpet fibers too. Just a reminder for all to check their bilge pumps this spring. I would have noticed it immediately once I saw water shooting out the side from the bilge pump and it would have been a mistake with no cost. So bilge pump failure has become a sensitive issue for me.
After cleaning, the pump was still bad, so I suspect the gunk had blocked the motor, then the motor burned up. A new one is working good so far.Be excellent to one another.
