PM Ragboy, he will make you a custom aluminum platform. He made one for his 24Ve that looked sweet and added a few extra pounds to his ballast.

here is the link. You will need to read the entire thread to see what he did.

Going to do this as soon as I am home long enough to take on the project. Already have the materials to do it. My friends Malibu is done like that so it matches his rub rail on his boat and it looks good like that.

I don't need a whole need platform, just a fix to the mickey mouse metal band that's cheaply riveted on and already falling off. If I "were" to custom...I'd go for the acrylic one with embedded blue lights. Just looking for good fix to the band.

When you are finished please post some pics. I might want to do the same thing.

Booms, how much are they charging for the new platform?

Does anyone know what the trick is to remove the platform off the hinges? Does it pull up and out or any certain way?

I disagree. One really stubborn person works marginally well.

eks - They are giving me a new one at no charge because of a large void in the fiberglass.

                          I concur.

I only suffered a minor back strain the first (and only) time I did it by myself.

Does anybody under 6' tall have a solution to the cheaply riveted band issue?

May help to describe the issue in it's own thread, then you may get some ideas
