That is true, I was going more for how it felt compared to the other. Even though my Ve is rated for 16, its gets pretty crowded at about 12.

Ragboy.... have you ever thought about taking the platform off, turning it upside down and pouring resin in the bottom until it was flush to smooth it out? I would think you might want to drill some holes in the bottom side of the platform first to allow for good attachment to the old bottom.... but I see no reason that shouldn't work?

It would probably work, but you would make your deck and the brackets permanently attached. I am actually working on a composite, instead of aluminum deck, this winter. You know, for fun. ;-) It would be easy to mold and reproduce, where the aluminum is not.

I've actually thought about doing the same thing, but not to improve the surf wake, but to encapsulate a string on LED's around the platform. I've seen a couple peeps do it with success.

Hmmm - that's a neat idea. Wonder how it would work on the old RZ2 platform. You wouldn't need to do it to the entire platform, would you? Couldn't you just do the corners?

...or just do the edge tapered in
....or mill out the resin areas to attach the brackets to.

I have another project I am working on now, but right after I am planning on making a solid composite deck for the RZ2 & RZ4, and 22 and 24Ves. They would through bolt to the brackets for added strength dealing with big surf wakes climbing up the back of the boat. At least that is the plan for now.
