SPBFan & Da.Bell Meeting

SPBFan was in town and we decided that we needed to head out to the lake since we still have a little bit of water left. This wasn't the first time we meet but it was definitely the first time out on a boat together. The outing started with the first picture and then we eventually started towing SBPFan Jr. Then into Da.Bell Jr.

SBPFan Jr was having a blast out there and holding onto the kneeboard the entire time. As we all know, it is rather hard to get up on a kneeboard and I to his efforts.

Da.Bell Jr did kneeboard and the smile was because this was the first time he was successful in getting onto his knees. He usually wakeboards and does some tubing but rather likes the wakeboarding scene more.

Then we started to do some wakesurfing... SPBFan

SPBFan was the coordinator with weighting the boat with people correctly. We never moved the lead around the boat so the entire wake was part lead, 99% people

Mrs. SPBFan was having way too much fun as you can see with her smile. She definitely was a good sport and looked to have a blast doing what she likes to do.

The hand wave was because both my children decided to say "show us a trick" and the wave was the perfect trick that I am totally able to do

The last pic does show that I was riding without the rope. I got a hole 15-20 seconds without holding on... I haven't been able to do more than 5 seconds before this trip.. But again, I didn't try very hard before this time either.

Ragboy, yes, your children still show me up but there is progression on my part. hahahaha

He did a very good job at surfing but thought I would include the one fall that shot the board straight towards the boat. The board never hit the boat nor the platform but it was definitely one of the funnier falls that I have seen.

Looks like a great way to spend the afternoon...looks like no one was even on the lake.

I've got to make it out there sometime with you...how about tomorrow morning (we're heading to Berryessa) .

Should we start trying rallying a N.Cal meet and greet?

We did do some wakeboarding early but the wind picked up and didn't make for great conditions. My children are still trying to do a W2W but they are so close that they can feel it. One of them has gone W2W but so far this year, he hasn't been able to repeat. But again, both boys are on new wakeboards this year (2009 Kink and 2009 Pure)

That would be great but I don't know how much water there will be by the time this would be organized. IMO, next boating season would be okay but again, there isn't a Tige dealership that will be open from what I understand. So they wouldn't be able to do too much.

When someone is getting soo close to the W2W but casing it every time, I pull 5 feet off the rope so that the wakes are closer. That allows them to get comfortable with cutting hard and help lifting that fear of casing it on the top of the wake. That will build their confidence in their cut and being in the air. Then you can put the 5 feet back and see how they do.

They are already in at 63 feet. Can't get any closer with that rope. IMO, they just need to commit and this year with the new boards, they should be better off. They got the new boards < 20 days ago.

I still think that it would be better next year. This year is almost over because of the lack of water. I don't know of a lake that an event like this would be okay.

It was a lot of fun. Da Bells kids are a lot of fun and my two boys enjoyed being around them. We did get some good surfing in.
