You guys are awesome. Thanks for the feedback. A bit of updated info. Have found out now that the 08 22ve is with FULL warranty, not so for the 07 RZ2 which has (50ish) hours on it. Also, the RZ2 will require that we modify our boat slip to allow for the pickle fork. Not a huge job, but not free! Since the votes are weighing heavily toward the RZ2, the new question is whether it is THAT much better. Oh, yeah, NEITHER have factory ballast.

Are you planning to keep the boat in the water for long periods of time? If you are, I would suggest purchasing a lift for the slip. You hear about blisters in the gelcoat after a few weeks in the water.

I have a '07 22ve and absolutely LOVE that boat. Really, I wouldn't change a thing. Which is a little weird in the boating world.

Before I bought my 08 RZ2 I was going to buy an 07 RZ2 with 70 hours on it. All 70 hours were demo hours from the dealer. They told me that it would be sold to me with full warranty. I questioned it and they said they worked it out with the regional sales guy.
I would go with the RZ2. Work something out with the dealer to get you that full warranty.

I dont have my owners manual with me but it does talk about demo hours and I believe it is 40.

As far as which boat no surprise that I would say the Ve mostly for the Warranty. If you work out a full warranty with your dealer and he goes under your screwed.

Since I have spent lots time driving in both they are very similiar in handeling I actually think the ve turns better than the RZ (sorry da.bell) but the extra room in the bow is nice. Also the Tige pro's that I have talked to feel the ve's make better wakes with less weight.

Nope, period! As DaBell stated earlier, we will disagree on the handling between the RZ2 and the 22Ve . This just shows how equally solid these 2 boats are, so it all comes down to ones personal preference. One handles the chop a little better, one maneuvers better, one has a little better surf wake due to the platform shape, one has a little roomier bow.

You will not go wrong with either, the key is to spend time in each to see which one fits the family better.

No ballast, no problem. Plenty of aftermarket and DIY setups out there that will get you guys the wake you're after!

I will agree that the Ve has a better wake than the RZ. It is also cleaner than an RZ wake in my opinion.

Are you comparing you RZ experience to the RZ4? The RZ2 is so much easier to weight it properly.

BTW, the RZ2 has a better looking wake than the 24Ve that I owned. Now, there are some differences between the weight distribution ( 1 battery in 24Ve compared to 4 batteries in RZ2)

+1 - the wakeboarding wake looks identical to me.

From what I have seen with with the difference between the RZ2 and the 22Ve with TAPS at 5. The RZ has a definite lip to it while the 22Ve is still rounded a little bit. However, the 22Ve can lip with a higher TAPS level but that is what I have notice.

Now, we are not talking huge differences here and the hulls are definitely different even though the RZ2 came from the same hull frame as the Ve. However, the RZ has a bigger rocker than the 22Ve. That isn't coming from my point of view but the district salesperson last year.
