I created a blog for the ballast install, because I think it will be much easier to deal with than the message board if people are asking questions. I will update most of it next week after the install is done but I can break it into sections of the install so it is easier to comment or ask questions. Sorry if this doesn't help your post counts for all of my PW friends!

The Multihose was not recommended for below water line draining as it might collapse. So I am using the Flex PVC instead. I know other have used the Multiflex with the ballast puppies without issue.

Interesting. I think the multihose is very kink resistant, so I would be surprised if it could collapse as well. It is good to see you taking the safe route.

I like the idea of being able to see the water flow through the hose, does the flex PVC come in a clear color?

I use the flex PVC as well, I never found any that was clear. The one disadvantage the PVC has is to be too rigid, It was hard to go around corners and to make the clamps work without leaking. But once you accomplish that I am very sure that it will never kink or get a hole on it.

My system is well hidden, even I the hose was clear I wouldn't be able to see it.

That's why you have shut-off valves. I went with the reinforced multi-flex hose and have not had an issue.

I think the collapsing is what happens if the suction into the hose is so strong that the hose actually collapses and then no water gets through.

It is not a leakage issue.

Like I said, I cannot fathom that the multihose would collapse, but, maybe with those bad boy pumps...

OK here is the break down. I am uploading pics as I drink and type. 4 holes in the boat and all the though hulls were installed today. Problem I ran into was the extreme trailer. I have a 50" chest can couldn't get under the trailer to drill the scoop hull. So I had my neighbor who is a master craft owner go under and drill the final and most important hole. He is very good with stuff like this and i trust him. Plus how many other MC owners can say they drilled a hole in the bottom of a Tige. Everything has gone off with out a hitch (knock on wood). G-money came over after work and we finished placement of the pumps and ran some hose. The Flex PVC is very easy to work with and the Multiflex even easier. We have the pumps in place and hose run for the front bag and the T to each side. The starboard side is in place. Tomorrow we will run the electrical and when I say we I mean G-money. I will be finishing off the connections to the pumps and bags in the mean time. Problem of the day was pump placement in the front compartment as the bag runs into my oversized sub box ( it is for a 15" square kicker) which has slow things down just a bit, but it was dark and we were hungry and needed some more beers.
