    2008 Z1 😡 OMG!!!

Ok. So i have switches that won't light up at all. Some that light up in one position and not the other. And one that lights up both way. I have pulled the panel and all connections looks correct. My question is, if the switch doesn't light up, it's it failing to get power? Like one pump runs on empty, nothing the other way...

Grab a volt meter ans make short work of it. You can easily determine if the switch has voltage in or not and if there is voltage out or not, in the on position.

A good clue to no voltage or to the switch or bad switch, is when neither the switch illumination nor the device it controls, works. Both get their voltage from the 12V B+ supply to the switch. If the light comes on but the device does not work, it either a bad switch or bad device.
