    Ballast for 2007 22ve

I purchased my boat used. It came with ballast installed in both front and rear. Not exactly sure how much it is but I think there is a 150ish on both sides in the front and 250ish on both side in the rear. All are plumbed in and controlled by switches by the driver seat. I am looking to get a bigger surf wake for the port side and am wondering if anyone has advice or examples of what they have done for their boat.

    Thank you in advance.

I would worry too much about the size of the rear ballast tanks/sacs. For a good wave, you need 800'ish aft surf side. for a great wave, 1200+. Quite a few 22Ve owners have installed ballast from scratch and a few that have modified the factory setup and added additional ballast. You've got a great surf boat.

Got any pics of your 07?

Here is another one by lance, he is in the PNW and has the factory ballast. I checked this thread for a while but I believe he has since put one of the factory tanks back in.

Yup, I moved my batteries to the cooler and put the factory tank back in the port side. I rarely surf the goofy side so that tank is out. I also run about 100# of lead that I put in the transom locker. I left the factory sac in the bow and added about 100# of lead up there as well

Those 250 bags are nowhere near enough weight. Get with CHPTHRIL and order his 22ve customs or the z3 sacs will work also for that boat and are a bit cheaper then customs. I happen to have a set laying around out of my 07 22ve that I could part with if your interested pm me. They are the large customs CHP sells and I would sell at a discount to get them out of my garage. Here is my build to reference also along with Skippa and lances great builds.
