PVC manifold

Is it of any benefit to build the intake pump manifold bigger than the thru hull? My thru hull is 1.25 and I was planning on making my manifold out of 2" but it would be easier and give me more room to work with if I built it out of 1.5"

I had the same thoughts when planning my install and decided to ditch the manifold all together and go with individual thru-hulls and glad I did. I just couldnt find the right amount of space and didn't want to deal with the PVC and all the connections.

Well to late for that I already have my 1.25 thru hull installed. When I installed the thru hull the plan was to go with impellar pumps since then I have purchased aerators.

To answer your question: A 1.25" thru-hull and 1.25" PVC manifold will be plenty to feed a 3-4 fill pump system.
