well i have the aux. cables with the head phone jack to plug in the ipod. what is the befefit to having this interfase. if it will charge it or i will be able to controll it from the remote that would be bad ***.Comment

It will charge it but to the best of my knowledge the functionality of the ipod is severely hampered, you basically have to create 5 playlists labels something specific for the interface to find and that is what you are restricted to playing. A 6th playlist is the all songs played alphabetically. The interface basically replicates the 6 disc cd changer is why you have to make the playlists. It is a decent way to integrate an ipod, but not great imho.
That is super cheap for one of those though. Also, I am not sure of the difference between ea1251 and ea1251b, but according to the clarion website the cmd4 needs the ea1251b. Might want to check on that before buying.
