I have a questions about my Dorsey trailer. The previous owner took the boat in salt water twice about 5 years ago. I was doig some re-wiring on the trailer last night and noticed alot of rust on the inside of the trailer. There was lots of big flakes of rust piled up towards the back of the trailer inside the beams. I think the water rushes to the back of the trailer when it's being pulled out of the lake and it washes all the rust to the back of the trailer. I then checked inside of some of the cross beams with my finger and they were full of rust flakes too. I mean packed with it to where I could barely move my finger around. Should I be worried about the strength of the trailer? Has anyone had this bad of a rust problem? Would a normal trailer shop be able to assess the rust problem?
