Depth gauge sensor not read correctly

I have a '00 21V and the hummingbird sensor reads 1.5 ft. consistently. Every once in a while I get it to work while moving. Where is the transducer on this model usually located? It started doing this after I messed with the +/- reading to compensate for the hull position.

I had a similar issue with mine. Both the speedo and the depth gauge were off. The depth gauge was only off when I was moving. I checked the transom mount senor and somehow it had come unsnapped. When i was moving, it would flip upwards. I snapped it back in place and both have been working solid.

If it's consistently off by a certain number of feet, just use the keep offset to adjust for that.Originally posted by samw View PostHow would you do that. I look at that gauge and didn't see any adjustment. I can adjust my Keel off set but not how accurate it reads.

You can adjust most depth gauges to compensate for the position and draft in your boat.

I don't have PP.Originally posted by R&T Babich View PostI think your depth gauge sensor may not be part of the paddle wheel. Is your paddle wheel part of a Perfect Pass install? I added a PP and a depth sensor to our boat. The PP paddle wheel is a combo unit for speed and temp and would look like this: http://www.airmar.com/pdfs/install/17_038-01_r03.pdf
A depth sensor might look similar to this one: http://www.airmartechnology.com/airm...=All&PageNo=59
What brand is your depth gauge?
It looks like this.

I've got a 2000 21V and had the same problem. Your transducer is on the inside of the boat epoxied to the bottom of the hull. Most likely it's the gauge itself. I purchased a new replacement HUMMINBIRD HDR 610 from ebay for 75 bucks which included gauge and transducer.

Depth gauge sensor not read correctly
On my 01 21V, yesterday I noticed the depth gauge is off by about 8-9 feet
not good. So my question is can you adjust the depth gauge? Or do I need to get a new sensor. I beleive my sensor is part of my paddle wheel. If you can't adjust it can you get a new one and it will read correctly or is there something else to look at?
Thanks
