so talked to acme this morn'

    gist of the conversation>

    can't repitch the 537 to extreme 1619 specs> 13.750

can repitch the 1235 no problem... but he says if I run an extra inch of diameter it will most likely burn the gel coat..If I don't want that to happen to have my prop guy trim the peak for clearance if

..OR forget trimming it and mount a thin piece of stainless steel plating above the prop...epoxy or marinetex it to the hull.. whatever

OR buy a new properly pitched/diameter prop and sell one of my other props..probably sell the 537 but if nobody wants that I'll dump the 1235 to embo so I can pay for the new one

If I rework the 1235 that means pulling the boat asap, yanking the prop and rushing it to RENO for the prop guy. I asked ACME if they knew the shop and it's owner and they indeed do know him and gave him a pretty good rep

..however it's pouring down rain..not a nice day to row 1/4 mile out to my bouy haha..I'll do what it takes though

One thing I have to remember it's 4th of July week and I'm sure the prop shop is swamped so forget about having the prop for the holiday...doh...

I was bit confused and called him back and went into alot more details..AND now he says if I really want some balls blow off any version of the 1619 and to get their new 2079. It's also a 14.5 but pitched at 12.00 with a .105 cup. That's ACME's Bill Weeks ticket for dragging around 2200 lbs of ballast at 6250 ft.

          I'm ordering the 2079 asap

not yet..pulling the boat today and goin through the whole system. it's not goin back in the water till I have the right prop and pumps running.

I cruised it around a few times and pulled tubes...not that fun

I NEED TO SURF. That was the goal and now I have to really make it happen.

Work finally got slow(er)..I was overwhelmed because of the wet May and that made June hectic as f**k. 2 wasted months...sigh..F' it I'll be in the lake till Halloween with a dry suit.....then back to Santa Cruz for the winter

Get yourself a o'neil psycho 1 or 2 4/3 wetsuit. Tons of flex and super light. 2x as good as a drysuit. You could always fill your sacs by hand with an external pump. Works just kind of a pain.

              2079 ordered...2 day..supposedly coming friday.

Oneil could be the ticket. I had an Excel 5/4/3 and you had to be Hou'friggendini to get in and out of it. I had to grease up to get it on

.I wore it once and sold it for 100 bux

. I now have a Rip Curl 3/2 to get through the spring.. Real flexible and a snap to get in/out of

.then a my spring suit for summer. Love that one..super easy to throw on. Had it for nearly 20 years and is still not bad shape cause of the clean water and use

Winter comes and I'll need a real wetsuit. Oneil is right in Santa Cruz plus the girls working there are like super models that surf...bammm..Always fun to go there

Yeah I always carry a spare pump just in case something breaks, also works as a secondary bilge if needed. The psycho 2 has the felt on the inside to help you get in and out. I rock a psycho 1 and it's the best suit hands down I have ever tried on. It gets the best flex rating from my surf shop, some are warmer but they aren't as flexible.

I will say this moose, my avalanche seemed a little more sporty (quicker to respond- jump out of the hole) but didn't have enough balls when it came to really ballasted surfing. My 24v has never had a power issue even with tons and tons of weight.

makes sense...but this elevation is killing my power..has been for my whole life. Even the STi which I had pushed to 300+ at the crank suffered. Sucks.

I'm convinced I got the right prop on the way. ACME's Bill Weeks.. Mr. Prop says so. That sob sure knows alot about props. I gotta give him props' for the help...doh

I worked all day to finish this one big job and never had a chance to pull the boat. We did move the trailer to within a block of the ramp so it's gettin yanked and possibly fixed tommorow

DOH..so I got the ballast pumps working. I had to bring in an IT to go through the wiring. Actually it was just a freind of a freind visiting for the 4th and I let him loose on the wiring with the help of some diagrams.

He had it deciphered in 20 minutes...doh..haha. The guy was sharp real sharp. The system now works as it's supposed to. Bow tanks fill in a couple of minutes and the rear Enzos take about 8 or 9

We set up a decent wave on both sides. Port was a bit cleaner but not by much. 5 guys in the boat plus 2200 odd pounds of ballast AND tons of freeboard left

The new 2079 came 2 day UPS on friday...WAKEMAKERS covered the shipping..props. Pitched at 12..14.5". It brings the boat to speed much quicker. Not sure if I'm getting all the rpms but it was rough as f**k with all the holiday kooks. No wind whatsoever but just too many damn boats going every which way.. so when calmer water happens I'll know

I think I'm keeping the 1235 and selling the 537. If I go below I'm sure the 1235 will be the one to have

..so if anyone needs a good deal on a 537..it's CLEAN with 71 hours of fresh water. Is 300 bux a good deal? For 20 I'll priority ship it asap

Does this mean you are happy with the boat?

                              maybe haha

It looks like the wave is gonna be sick...b. The extra freeboard is awesome. We had that fkr listing like crazy and there was no panic at all

I will say it doesn't handle rough water so well. That was proven yesterday. I had Taps buried and the bow tanks plumped up and still we were taking a beating

I'ts not the purpose of the boat I know that but from my mooring I usually have to go aways to hit calmer coves.... so it would be nice if it was better at chop.

Once I get the wave dialed I'm sure I wont be trippin on that so much. This is a bad weekend to make any snap judgements since the lake is full on jammed packed with kooky crazy boaters. Nobody seems to know any marine rules haha..just go anywhere and blow through wake zones haha..

My lake had 3 foot waves yesterday from wind and it doesn't handle them great but about as good as my avalanche did The wave is great. Go custom sacs some day. they rock.
