so talked to acme this morn'
gist of the conversation>
can't repitch the 537 to extreme 1619 specs> 13.750
can repitch the 1235 no problem... but he says if I run an extra inch of diameter it will most likely burn the gel coat..If I don't want that to happen to have my prop guy trim the peak for clearance if
..OR forget trimming it and mount a thin piece of stainless steel plating above the prop...epoxy or marinetex it to the hull.. whatever
OR buy a new properly pitched/diameter prop and sell one of my other props..probably sell the 537 but if nobody wants that I'll dump the 1235 to embo so I can pay for the new one
If I rework the 1235 that means pulling the boat asap, yanking the prop and rushing it to RENO for the prop guy. I asked ACME if they knew the shop and it's owner and they indeed do know him and gave him a pretty good rep
..however it's pouring down rain..not a nice day to row 1/4 mile out to my bouy haha..I'll do what it takes though
One thing I have to remember it's 4th of July week and I'm sure the prop shop is swamped so forget about having the prop for the holiday...doh...
I was bit confused and called him back and went into alot more details..AND now he says if I really want some balls blow off any version of the 1619 and to get their new 2079. It's also a 14.5 but pitched at 12.00 with a .105 cup. That's ACME's Bill Weeks ticket for dragging around 2200 lbs of ballast at 6250 ft.
