I found mine and its in front of the driver seat in the side wall cubby. It had plenty of fluid but I still added more to get it up to the line. I hot wired it right at the pump and it ran in both directions but with no movement from the plate. I have 2 actuators so I'm not sure how to figure out which one is bad. Also I bet I burned up a relay...?

I need the taps to get my nose down since I'm trying to surf. I've added ballast to the rear so I'm getting a lot of cavitation from the prop.

    Good times.

when your testing it straight from the battery you have to apply power to the the bigger green wire as well, if not it wont move.

Thanks Ruger761! I'm going to try that tonight. I owe ya. Too bad it's one of the hottest days of the year. Whew.

well i should be getting my pump saturday but be prepared there will be more questions coming as i thought i found the hoses that go back to the plate well turns out that wasnt them, turns out mine have been burnt by the exhuast so im going to have to run more and will probably need a little help with that one where they should be routed when i get to that

This is a wiring diagram for our year boats far as the relays go. I made it when my brothers (2001 20i) taps control box died and he didnt want to order the new one.

Rugar761 you were right. I got the plate moving and at least now the plate and needle is in middle position. Thanks a ton!
Hopefully this will help my cavitation issues until I can get new relays. Now to look for relays. I guess I should start with Bennett?

I googled other options and came up with this. http://www.alliedelec.com/te-connect...FcyP7QodfEECqA

              Anyone else go this route?

By the way I'm a design engineer too-I do Aero out of DFW.

you can get our simple relays at any auto store, which is what makes the older TAPs sytems easy to work on. If it turns out its not your relays (which for $5 I would start there) its the wire running to your control handle. The wires are very small and can break in the control handle. Kinda a pain to change out, which is why I would start with the relay.

Nice! Im a design engineer for Oil and Gas. Wife is a structures engineer for American Airlines. Were out of Tulsa.

What ballast have you been running on your boat to surf?

Cool thanks. I took off the handle on top of the throttle and tried to inspect it. Looks like a pain.
The link didn't work. And part number avail?

I haven't got it dialled in at all. I just have a 200-300 bag behind the back seat in the locker that the previous owner gave me. It's on the surf side. I usually have a friend with me that weighs 300lbs as well on that side as well. That plus about 4 others looks to be a decent surf wave but the wave wasn't very clean. Hopefully the taps will help. I have another fat sac I might place somewhere.

On Oreilly site its P/N DF005W just a simple 12 volt relay.

You should have enough weight just geting it placed correctly is key. I've made a little NSS wake plate that helps mine out some. But currently runnign 300# in locker on surf side, #350 on the floor next to motor, 200# under rear seat. Then typiclly 2 adults (200 each) on rear seat then 1 on observer seat. I typically run tap set on wakeboard so all the way up and have driver give the boat a slight left turn. It does like to cavitate some but not too bad. Id like to swap to a little lower pitch prop to help it out a little more.

TA its next on my list of upgrades to do, course building a new house right now so the boat upgrade list has been pushed aside for a while. But I will make a note of that prop and have Mike order me one once I get back to my upgrade list,h opefully next year. Also want to do a little auto ballast vs manual pump. Filling bags up right now when its this hot is a killer.

TA I would love to see how a new prop would work for me. I'm running a stock stainless right now.
I have a barefoot boom and like to barefoot when I'm at the river but I need more speed..... Next year maybe... Aren't those props $500 bucks or more. Crazy.
I know that the technology has to be better now than in 98.

Mine are up under the dash up where the holes are where the wires go to the gauges. Should be 2 of them.
