    R22 Stock Surf Wake

Hey guys. First post here. I just picked up a 2016 R22 and I've been playing around with ballast and taps settings until the water warms up. Thought I'd post a video of the wave I'm getting. I looked for this kind of video when I was buying the boat and couldn't find anything so I thought it might help someone else make their decision. Overall I'm very impressed. Haven't gotten to ride it yet but it looks pretty!

Videos aren't working for some reason. Here's the direct link.

My guess is you need taps 2 at a lower setting and to speed up a little bit. There are endless ways to do what you’re doing, so we really can’t help you until you tell us what you’re running. Ballast, speed and taps.

At this point I'm just playing around with the boat. Not really looking for help dialing in the perfect wave. Current settings below.

    Rears 100%
    Front left: 50%
    Taps: 3
    Taps3: 3
    11.2 mph

Boat is empty other than me and few life jackets.

The biggest thing I learned on this outing is not to trust the ballast fill levels on the screen. Had to adjust the fill and drain times to get them to fill all the way until they were dumping out the sides. Does Tige ship with fill settings at roughly 50%-75% ballast capacity? I bought my boat used with 25 hours on it but I can't believe the previous owner would have adjusted the fill levels down on purpose.

Ballast impellers wear out just like engine impellers (sitting without use can wear them quicker than using them). I just replaced all 3 of my reversible ballast impellers a couple weeks ago, cause I noticed my bags were leaking down a little while riding toward end of last summer and did not fill bags as fast either. It was 3rd summer on boat with roughly 265hrs. That my not be your issue, just throwing it out there. Likely the fill times were never right from the factory and previous owner was not as OCD as we tend to be and did not realize it.
I bought the green ballast impellers from WakeMakers, they make different kinds depending on what pump you have.

The tige would have aerator pumps, so worries about impellers. if your goal is full ballast, id wait till you hear the water purge. Next, keep an eye out for passive draining. May require opening the rear lockers and checking the sacs.

But, if anyone with a johnson or jabsco reversible impeller ballast pump need new impellers, holler at me for the new orange ones. No need to go somewhere else for new-old-stock

With the pimps I let them run for a couple minutes on fill after the water starts to come out and then stick an expandable drain plug in the hole so they stay full. I was loosing half of my surf side weight other wise. Because your wave looked short and the rz2 is a little shorter, in the front id go 100% surf side 75off, this might be your problem. Also with the timers can’t you manually reset them?

For taps just start all the way down and slowly moving them up until it gets worse or better, maybe go a tad faster too.

fill the riding side bow weight 100% if running stock and or bleed a little off side rear weight...until it cleans up.
