i was looking at a gps speedometer because our paddle wheel keeps breaking on our lift. So instead of replacing it again i was wondering if we got a new gauge can we hook that up to the speedset or is that hooked into paddle wheel directly?

the gauge i was looking at was

The Speed-Set relies on the paddle wheel, I dont there is any way to integrate that with the GPS speedo. The factory speedo gauge is pretty much just a display and is probably at the end of the line. I'll bet Speed set would actually work with out the gauge.

Easiest solution is to just set the bunks right. People with trailers aren't breaking wheels every time the load/unload. :02:

You are better off buying perfect pass :02:

Or just change the bunks.... That would be easiest and cheapest.

He can't put Perfect Pass on to his 20V. Perfect Pass won't work from what I understand.

Yep, if his 06 has Tige Speed-Set, it has a Throttle-By-Wire MP, so not throttle linkage to pull on!

Perfect Pass is not compatible with the MP ECM Zad.. :02: Speed-Set is programmed straight into the ECM and the ECM controls how the boat moves

I know what an ECM is and I know what it does and how it works. Probably better than you... :D

Perfect pass has a Manual for 2006 DBW Tiges on their website..:02:

I believe those are for OEM apps, not aftermarket. Could be wrong though.

Perfect Pass has 3 wires that plug into the ECM.

RQST- This asks the ECM permission to take control
STAT- This wire signals to Perfect Pass that it has control ( This is also the beep)
VGOV- Is the wire that tells the ECM the needed RPMs

Those are the only 3 components that Perfect Pass uses to control the engine. So as long as they are accessible, and they probably are because Marine Power uses the same MEFI ECMs as Indmar.
