Space in the middle of the lifeplus core

I've been looking at the lifeplus core design, and the large space in the middle of it. Is this area completely occupied by the fuel tank? If not, this will be a great place to put an additional factory ballast.

in the v series the fuel tank does take up most of this space, not sure that there would be enough space available to make it worth the effort vs. weight gain

looking at this pic (again), it seems that they could put in a ballast system with 6-8 small tanks in each pocket between the lifeplus core "fingers" that stretch outwards. This would be under the floor, so it'd be out of the way. You could fill each one up seperately and tune it just how you want it...:D

would it really make that much of a diff? looks like there is only enough room to put maybe two gallons of water probably only one.
