Unfortunately, mid May is when the water starts to get warm enough to go without a dry suit. Although a wetsuit is highly recommended. :ro:

We used to ride year round...........slowed up in late Oct, riding once or twice a month, and then picking back up in late March.

For me and my friends its year round. Lake Mead gets to be about 56 in the winter months. Right now it is @57.5 and we have been out every month except December so far.

I generally shoot for the first of April. Sometimes we're a few days earlier and sometimes a few days later. Last spring was cold early, and I have a feeling this one may be as well. Still 6-8 inches of ice on my lake, and it's only 14 degrees here so far today.

I could even try to go in March, but I am a little afraid of shrinkage. I never tried using a dry suit.

Why yes it does. The only problem is finding a weekend when it's not raining and <60 degrees in March. :(

ktmrider Where do you live in Miami?? I am looking at Moving down that way but there doesn't seem to be as many Lakes down there as there are up in Orlando. I am looking at buying a place in the Independance Bay Community. Have you heard of if? its up in Deerfield beach off Sawgrass pkwy and Florida turnpike. Will I want to look at as many places as I can on lakes so if you know of any it would be a great help in my search??
Thanks

Yeah not to sure if I am hip to the saltwater thing. I use to wakeboard in the ocean when i was living in Japan. I means its fine just not the same a a calm lake at 6 in the morning. I will see what fast has to say and go from there. Thanks for the help though.

As soon as the snow melts. Usually the beginning of April. I really need to invest in a dry suit. The water is still under 50 degrees in April. A wet suit just doesn't quite cut it anymore.
