Mine is $375 before the group deal. $350 with. I say we definitely do it. I think we have awhile to get it done. When we get enough orders we'll get our own code.

I have read that inside the boat on a DD there is a reduction in noise but you can still hear the engine a little through the motor cover. :02:
Dale, did it really make a difference sound wise on the DD? I am all ready spending beaucoup bucks as it is on the stereo install as I write this......Yes. I also just put in a stereo too. I have 4 cabin speaks, 2 tower speakers and (1) 2 channel amp powering the tower speakers. I thought I needed an amp for the cabin and sub, but now the only reason I will add an amp is for the sub when I put it in. The stereo sounds so much better and louders and I don't even have much power going through it. I didn't put that much into my stereo, new deck and 4 cabin speakers. Had the amp and won the tower speakers and sub at the Tige reunion.:D
What I noticed is when "driving" the sound isn't that different, but in the back of the boat it is much, much better. I still hear the engine because we have an "i" boat but not nearly as bad. I also had a lot of fumes in the back, that is all gone now.
jwanck11, I would go for it if you can. It is worth it, just for the fumes and your stereo will sound so much better (for everyone on the lake):D:D

I just want to make sure everyone knows how good this deal is, the normal price for me $450 but with their coupon code it is $375 and with the group deal $350.

I think I noticed the engine noise more, because I couldn't hear the exhaust any more.

This was the same on my boat. I have a V-drive.

I know this may not be popular, but I LIKE the sound of my engine. My kids do also, sounds cool. I mean, my truck has upgraded exhaust to sound good too. Maybe just the beaner in me.

No, the loud noise is great when your young.
When you get into the 50's a few db less would be nice:02:
Mine will have to wait for tax time:(
CSU tuition and board are killing me. :(

Thanks Dale for the write up! Yeah, I would do it for the exhaust gasses more than anything as I like the rumble like Ragboy. :o I all ready have some serious juice in the stereo, but was interested in what impact the FAE had on noise.
I really am thinking of doing this!
Who is actually in at this point???

Maybe just the beaner in me.I can't say I don't like it, but working in an engine shop and not being an engine person - I don't really miss it. I really didn't notice how bad the exhaust fumes were until we started surfing. Anyway if I want to here the engine I can go back to the dnyo's.

According to the website if you pre-order before January 3 your card will be charged $100 on 1-3-09 and balance will be due when shipped before March 15th and it is $100 off. For my 08 22ve that is only $351.00
I don't see the advantage of the group buy!

There is no advantage (EXACT same $100 off) except you will have it November 08 instead of March of 09. I'm awaiting a PM from someone still.

I am certainly looking at the group buy. Unless we can find a dealer that would be interested in doing a group buy but I know they would probably have the same requirements from FAE to get the same deal or possibly a little better but not much. My big question is does this include freight when purchased or is that an additional charge.

This is the reason I am not interested in the FAE. It is a good idea however. I have always liked the throaty sound. I would not mind some turned downed tips.

Seriously. I love the sound of a heathy V8 as much or more as the next guy but, the reduction in fumes way, WAY outweighs the pleasant tune of the motor, I don't care if you surf or not. I've been in tow boats all my life and never had an issue with fumes. That is until I put an FAE on mine. I'll never have a boat without one. That much I can promise you.
