trailer question for ya

it feels like when i go in revervse my brakes on the trailer are locked...
i have an adaptor for the wire harness...(5 prong) brake lights and turn signals work properly. towing with a GMC denali
need help! i'm trying to pop my cherry tommorow....at this pace...don't think i will till x-mas.

Check the reverse lights on the tow vehicle, if they are inop for some reason like a blown fuse, the trailer brake lock out will not work. The solenoid draws it's power from the reverse circuit.
