Black is a awesome color on a boat but is very hard to take care of. To remove water sports use a solution of 50percent clean water and 50 percent white vinegar as you shammy the boat off. Carnuba was works pretty well but will still show swirl marks.

My maine accent is black and I keep it looking good by wiping it down as soon as it comes out of the water of course and wax after every weekend or ride, And like Malibu3 said 50/50 water & vinegar for the hard water spots. lots of work I know but I like my boat to be spotless when I pull up to the ramp.
I've had to buff out a few scratches from boards but that happens. To help keep the transom scratch free I bought some 3M clear vinyl from Cabelas to stick on the area that takes the abuse.
Dark colors are a little more work but they sure do look good !

Does anyone know if the 50% vinegar and 50% water solution strips the wax off the boat? I use that solution on my boat but I have heard conflicting stories about whether it is true or not.
If the water vinengar solution can take off those tough water staines my guess would be that it can also remove wax.
but I wax after every outing anyway.

yes vinegar will take off the wax, most people use vinegar for salt water spot removal. Dark Gel colors are always hard to take care of, just like dark car paints. Luckly gel coat can be a lot more forgiving if you know how to buff out scratches. And Tige` uses a very expensive gel coat which also helps

yes, vinegar is acidic, and will break down wax. I've been using ducky water spot remover on PWC for years, and have had good results with it. Basically, dry the boat, then spray a dry towel and wipe down the hull.

runne,
that's what I use and my boat looks great:) I just wipe it down and then spray it on. My 2 year old jetski(for sale by the way) looks like it just came off the show room floor. Ducky is some good stuff. Need to buy it in bulk though, dang boat uses too much of it:)

bigD: You wax after every outing? That's nuts, are you just a glutton for punishment.

dom... my 'doo is going up for sale here in a few days too. I dont think I'll be using it much w/ the new boat coming, so I figured I'd clear the garage space and use the money towards the boat.
