Perfect pass will not be offered to any boat manufactuer in 09. Prefect pass will only be available to its current customers and Mechanical engines.

Zero off is only available to DBW boats and will have any manufactuer that wants Zero Off. I think Tige is not going with Zero Off at this time and is just sticking with their Speed Set system.

In May of 2008 AquaStar, Inc./EControls, Inc. & Perfect Pass signed an agreement that states;

* 1) Perfect Pass will not offer drive by wire systems to boat OEM's beginning 2009 boat model year.
* 2) Perfect Pass will not offer retrofit systems for 2009 model year for drive by wire applications.
* 3) Perfect Pass is licensed to sell Star Gazer to its existing customer base until the beginning of 2009 boat model year.
* 4) Zero Off will not retrofit mechanically/servo driven applications.

Was this a buy out or a patent issue?

Both will co-exist but in different markets. I guess. Also I think this means PP will be gone in a few years.

That sucks! I guess I better upgrade to Stargazer sooner rather than later.

So if one was in the market for a speed set control today for a 1999 22i, where should I look???

Perfect Pass is your only option. Since you don't have TBW. Stargazer or the older style will work

Not a bad option, either. I love my PerfectPass! :ro:

Definately not. I didn't mean to infer that. It would be my preference even if I had a choice

I installed a PP Wakeboard Pro system in our boat 2 years ago and love it.
The PP website doesn't list the Wakebaord Pro anymore, just the StarGazer: http://www.perfectpass.com/perfect_pass_products.html
Ordered a StarGazer Upgrade kit for ours today.

Well there are just two versions, both work on the same principal but one is set up for wakeboarding, probably easier to use. Probably more of a set a speed and it goes. Whereas the 3 Event version obviously is set up for skiing and has more bells and whistles.
