I heard there might have been a female wake boarding behind a tige in parker up river, on sat 8/16/08, from what I heard she went down, and and might have been ran over by a poontoon or something else. Anybody hear of this?

Hope so too. But I would doubt it. Parker is a dangerous place to ride, unless it is before 8AM.

This from Boatcop on another site. He is in charge of the water patrol around Parker

Young lady on a wakeboard, tried an "endo", and endo'd up with a face plant. The board, still attached to her feet, came up and smacked her in the back of the head.

Brief loss of consciousness, she was airlifted to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs.

Where can you get water helmets. I don't want that to happen to my kids or wife. I would probably sell my boat if that happened and they did not have helmets.

I got mine from wakeside.com. The best is the Protec helmet. This one on Ebay is $50. Mine is a large: http://cgi.ebay.com/Med-Protec-Ace-Wake-Helmet-Red-Waterski-Wakeboard-HOT_W0QQitemZ120278167641QQihZ002QQcategoryZ159148 QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp16 38Q2em118Q2el1247

x2. This is the best helmet by far. Make sure you get the one with the ear flaps. While they may not look cool, they do protect against blown ear drums.

Most competitions will make you wear them anyway.

My nephew did the exact same injury, 5 staples to the back of the head and hes ok. my sister said the doctor at the e.r. has 5 kids and said they all wear helmets now. he says the worst injuries he sees are the blown ear drums.
