I have a 2002 22i, and for 2004 (maybe 2003 too) they went to a different drivers seat that has the flip up bolster. I would love to have this because my wife likes to be able too see better when we are boarding and surfing. Is it possible to change the seats? Could I order a new seat and just swap it with my old one, or are the mounts different? I guess I would have to get the same color too. Any thoughts?

You can order a new 04 seat with the flip up bolster and just swap it.

Good question Domslude! I would also like to know what the cost of the new seat. Can you use the existing base and just get the seat itself, or do you have to get the whole assembly? Is it a true "straight" swap? Just unbolt the old, and bolt in the new?

It will bolt on the same stand you allready have. I'm not sure on the cost I think it's about $550:00

Whoa.........$550?? If its that much for a seat, my wife can deal with the old one....that sounds ridiculously expensive.

I use a throw cushion for extra height while driving cost about $8. Besides if you ever get stoped you have to have it handy anyway.

I have a 2000 21i, will the newer style of seat work as a direct replacement on my boat as well? Can I order it straight from the factory or do I have to work through a Tige dealer?
I have the 2004, 21i with the flip up bolster seat. It is worth its weight in gold. I do'nt think you can fix any flip up part to your older models as it is made all in one so when the seat is down it then forms a standard size seat.

I am intrested in a direct replacement of my existing seat, meaning taking out the old and replacing it with the newer style. Does anyone know if that will work on a 2000 21i?

The new seat will fit. Talk to your dealer and he can order one.

Why not just get a taller riser from Overton's or here locally? That will raise the seat you have and color match much cheaper.

Hey All,
I ran across this page on Malibu's web site, I think it will work on older seats as well. It seems like a much less alternative than $550!!! Of course the throw isn't a bad idea, as long as you haven't thrown it! Good Luck
