View Full Version : Surfing Damaging Graphics, warranty issue?

Well, I now am knocking on 250 hours on my 24Ve. I would guess that about 175 of those hours are wakesurfing, mostly on the goofy side. And now, we rarely if at all wakeboard, we are always surfing.

The graphics, both the tribal and the 24Ve graphic, on the driver's side are starting to come off from the water. I looked at the warranty, it seems this should be covered under the 3 yr warranty, graphics are not excluded, and we are not using our boat for comps or in a way it wasn't designed for. What do you guys think? I will probably call CWS this afternoon.

So if not covered, I don't want to keep buying new graphics, what are my options? Would a cool designed wrap stay on? Should I just pull them all off?

I would pull them off. But, call CWS.. They might find a loophole somewhere.

I just called CWS, they are not sure, I have to take pics and send to them. Working on that now. The only bummer is I pushed back on, but they come up easy in those spots, so have to kinda peel back again, take pics, and push back on.

Make sure you peal them back and then take pictures... No further back than you originally saw though.

As far as i am concerned as much money as we pay for these boats(most of you guys much more than me) you should not have to worry about graphics coming off when using the boat for what it was intended for. A wrap would be really cool though

But is a wrap going to just come apart also in a year?

Anyone have any experience with wraps and heavy surfing? Will marine wrap companies warrant a wrap on a surf boat?

IMO, PM Wetsounds1 or "Nuck'n Futs!" and ask them.. Both have RE:Boat raps and Tim does a ton of wakesurfing from what I see.

I think that's all Tim does - that's all I would do if I had $2,500 worth of surfboards..HAHAHA!

I think I at least got that, especially since I won 2 more at the NorCal comp. We won a SMED wombat, and a new (not in production) calibrated "matang?" Mike wasn't sure what he is going to name it. So now we have the green loogey, blue lake, wombat, matang, cybershapes, landlock on loan, and I just got a new Mini Long board for myself, 8 feet in length. I now have a way to rack it on my boat, and I am waiting for some wax, don't think I want to put EVA on it, keep it old school. Post pictures after I get the wax and rack all setup.

I think I am going to be selling most of our wakeboards, we just don't use them anymore.

Let me know if you're interested in selling any of those.

Wraps are typically one solid piece--there should be no edge to really catch and grab like individual stickers. A wrap should not come off. Furthermore, I doubt the quality of the stock graphics is on par with custom graphics suppliers.

We will probably def sell the SMED, brand new. Its a great board, but RJ is looking at either a James Walker Pro model, or new Inland Loogey. Inland is actually setting up for us a demo day with sean cummings, for RJ to ride all boards, and make his decision. Kid is starting to rip it up.

I have spots for 5 surfboards, my 2 dbot racks, and one of my samson racks is combo surf/wake. I plan on replacing other samson to surf/wake, and that will give me 6 spots and 2 for wakeboarding. I just got a dbot addon, so one of my dbot racks have space for 3.

I will probably be selling that WB also.

So I guess I will be selling the following.

Def sell SMED wombat, for $300, if you want, pm me.

Prob sell 2007 hyperlite premiere, great shape with byerly bindings. Make me an offer.

Prob sell 2007 hyperlite Syn with matching bindings. Make me an offer, not sure though, Ashley may have a hard time letting go.

Prob sell 2008 green loogey, depending on RJs choice.

Waiting to hear from dealer, but going to look into it.

My custom graphics also surfed off on the goofy side. I am thinking of replacing with Domed letters.

Site has no information on it.

Are your graphics original, if so, how many hours surfing on them?

"Original"? Factory? No. One of a kind? Yes. I came up with the basics (what they say, general idea of a look) and he put the rest together (colors, font, ect.). He's great at coming up with ideas.

So far as hours, hmm, I would have to guess somewhere around 150. They've been on for three or four seasons now. I've run the high speed buffer over them a few times. They still look new.:ro:

The web site is brand new, so probably not much info there besides his contact. His old site was http://www.stickerspot.com. I'll see if it works.

You should definately msg Ks if you're thinking of doing a wrap.

He is pretty far away, If I do something of that magnitude, I think I would want to do it more local.
