We have a rip in the vinyl on the seatback cushion behind the drivers seat on our 22ve. It is only about 1-2inches and we think it was from an fishing lure. Is there a good way to fix this without replacing the entire seat back? If not how do you get the seat back off?

Yeah, number one rule in my boat! Leave your fishing poles at home. This is a wakeboard boat not a fishing boat. Well I guess that would be rule number two. Rule number one is, I make the rules.

Talk to your Marina, we have a guy that comes in once a week and repairs vinyl. He will basically glue it back together, you'll never even know there was a tear. You could also talk to a local interior shop.

SuperGlu the seems together and put Scotch Tape over the rip until it dries. However, there are companies that will also fix the rip for you also for a price.

You can also buy kits to repair it yourself, but I recommend not going this route if you are a perfectionist. The SG route is also a viable way to go...

If you do it yourself you will be able to see the tear most likely. The guy we have do it uses a special glue, he matches to color of it to your seat so you can't see it.

^^^ Very true..
Ops, just forgot to say that you do not want to get any of that SuperGlu on the outside of the vinyl. The sun will discolor it and you will see where the cut is.

Then why did they put a fishing light under the swim platform?

ya... the kits have pretty much the same stuff... it is the matching of the color that is best left to the pros. :02: I really don't care as much so I did it myself. The results are decent and there is no more tear that will get bigger. :)

You have to reach behind the seat from underneath the bench and unscrew the bolts that are holding the cushion on.
