Break out your classic sticks and post 'em up.

My first is my fathers EP Comp 1.

Ok, how 'bout a little ground rules. Define 'classic'.

I've got an old wooden Connelly Hook, does that count?

You'll have to ask NICKYPOO, he's makin' up the rules on this one.

Rules?! There are no rules here. Anything you consider "old school". Wood, fiberglass, plastic, whatever. Don't be shy. I'll put up some pics of my Hydroslide Magna soon.:D

Classic = anything as old as Dogbert. Did they have skis back then?

Hey kids. If anyone has set of old school extra wide woodies with the old bindings (I'm talking screw on plastic kind of stuff) I may be interested in buying them. I'm an older dude w/ size 16 feet and I want to do more than drive. (I have heard all of the barefoot, battleship etc. jokes, so spare us all the comedy.....:D )

Seriously, pm me if you have something interesting. TJR:cool:

So, my 1990 vintage HO Magnum Comp sounds like it would qualify. It's not quite as old as me, but it's close.

That counts in my book.:ro:

I think in this day and age classic is a pretty loose term. Hell our boats (mine and yours) are pretty much classics with the difference between them and the new ones.

Ha ha. Sorry dude. It's actually a thread that I've been wanting to start for a while. I've kept every ski or board I've ever had and I dig on showing them off. :D

I finally talked my step dad into giving me his old HO Turbo.:ro: Unfortunately, he can't remember what happened to his Obrien World Team. He says it went with the old Sea Swirl when they sold it. I, however, know that is not the case. When they sold it, my mother told me to come and take whatever I wanted out of it. I cleaned that thing out. A couple of weeks later, we saw the Sea Squirrel out on the water with the new owners. I pulled up to them and said, "Hey there. Nice boat. It used to be my parents boat." The woman in the front of the boat replied, "Oh, are you Nick?" "Yeah, that's me." "You F***ER! You took all the skis!" Apparently, they sold the boat with skis, ropes and vests included. I said, "Sorry. My Mom said I could come and take whatever I wanted out of it. Enjoy the boat. See ya."

1984-5 HO Graphite T1 and a 84/85 HO Mach 1.
They are still in case and hanging in the garage..it's a shame I started boarding.

connelly hook from the 70s

Mine is very similar. I will get a pic and post in a bit. Was each Hook unique? I'm not sure what year mine is, but it's gotta be late 70's or early 80's.

I was going to post my **** Pope Jr. slalom. It is almost in as good a shape as yours, form. I will have to get a picture of my 79 connolly short line that I skied on the college ski team with. Those were the days, now I doubt I could even get up!

I learned how to slalom on that stick of course it looked nothing like that twenty years ago.I remember taking care not to get a splinter.
Last year my father gave it to me so I might have gone a little overboard on the finish.I guess it just has a lot of sentimental value.

I learned how to ski on my Mom's Cypress Gardens "Lil' Monster". It's in a storage unit with the boots dry rotted. We also have a Ski Skat and my Dad's **** Pope. Does anyone know if replacement boots are available for these skis? My 5 year old is ready to learn, but the little tied together Cypress Gardens that I learned on have succomed to the dry rot problem also. Any suggestions?

Here's what have:

The Cypress Gardens, HO Magnum Comp and Kidder Prestige are all 1990 year models. Not sure about the HO Revolt or the Connelly trick ski.

At the lake house in the shed We have a pair of Cypress Gardens Richard Pope skis that saw about 25 years of use and they need some tlc. We also have a 1972 O'Brien Competition Slalom that I finally quit using in the 90's. I just could not use anything else. It had a veneered top and a red composite bottom and just plain jane adjustable bindings. It saw so much water that the veneer is laminated in places.

I love the Connelly trick ski. In my opinion, that was really the first wakeboard vs. the skurfer...
