So I twisted my ankle on a rough landing the other day. I think my bindings are just too big for me, I have XL and I think I need L. Does that make sense or has anyone messed up their ankle in boots that fit well?

Totally makes sense.. How much ankle movement do you have? I hate to have my ankles moving around and the reason why I wear my CWB Faction bindings with the hinge. :D

If it makes you feel any better, a gal won 1st place in her division (Women's Novice) at the last INT Tour Stop this past weekend with a sprained anke. She had several wake-to-wake tricks in her bag. Pretty impressive even without the injury.

I really twisted my ankle up a few years back and my bindings were a beotch to get into. That said, they were some Liquid Force Ultra suctions from back in 98, so the binding market has come a long way since.

Even with a tight and great fitting binding you can still mess up your ankle? It would seem like with the proper fit and proper binding your ankles would be relatively safe.

I just fractured my tibula which is part of your ankle yesterday in some very tight fitting HO Approach bindings, not fun at all. But I think tight is still better than loose.

That's horrible. How long of a recovery? Were you skiing? Good luck and get better fast.

I'm out for 6-8 weeks which sucks cause I was just free skiing when i did it and now have tournaments for the next 2 months that I'm not going to be able to make. Yeah I was skiing and had a weird fall and my foot came half way out of the binding and broke my ankle inside the binding because it was so tight. It actually splintered in 4 places where my tendons were stronger than my bone and held onto my bone and ripped the bone off my tibula.

Oh my. That sounds really, really painful. Speedy recovery to you!

TO needs an injury thread with full on (overly) dramatic stories, pics, and recovery times!
