Going to be at the Big Cedar Lodge the last week of this month. I have seen many references to TR on this site and it will be our first time there so hope to get some insight on what to expect. Are there any slalom courses near the South (Ridgedale) end of the lake? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is definitely in Little Cow! Is is a bit of a ride from Big Cedar. Little Cow is 2-3 miles short of Kimberling City. It is all the way back in the cove on the starboard side. It is a fairly long cove and it will be on your port side as you head towards Kimberling City.
Have fun.:)

Was there two weeks ago, starting gates missing. Go during the week to avoid the people that shouldn't be on the course ( Jet Skis, non tournament boats and general idiots ) PM me if you have any questions, I live 15 minutes from course.

tige2ski,
Are you talking about the St. James River Arm heading south? If so I believe you are looking for the Viola Marina and 1 or two coves past it on the starboard side just before a turn into the next bend. Be very careful down there especially when Lake is running way high or when at normal levels.
When high every morning there are loads of logs that floated off shore into the main stream of the River arm. During normal levels lots and lots of tree trunks and stumps. I used to take my I/O down there but never ever an inboard. Odds are just too high that you will hit some good old Tablecrock flotsam.
Your right Saturdays suck.Too close to Springfield,LittleRock and St Louis. Sundays in the afternoon are somewhat back to normal if you stay away from the dam.
oh yeah no need to shout. go back to lower case :)

Thanks for the info.
I will be there Mon thru Friday and just hoped to spent a couple mornings attempting the course. (It has been several years since I had access to a course) The rest of the time will be spent with the wife, daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons just having fun. Really looking forward to this trip.

Where are you staying ?
Are you staying in the Shell Knob Area or closer to the dam?

We're also going to TableRock for the first time, and staying near Campbell Point Marina. I'll be looking at maps and scouring other sites for places to go. We have 24ve and looking forward to a great Thurs late-Sunday.
ANy recommendations appreciated

We will be at the Big Cedar lodge ( thanks to my daughter and her husband's decision to buy into the timeshare thing) which has a Ridgedale address. I have heard it is really nice but might be a busy part of the lake?

It may get busy on the main lake. But there are tons of fingers to back into to get way. It will be all good.

From Big Cedar you need to head towards Kimberling City and about 2 miles or so from the bridge is a cove on the port side called Little Cow. Go all the way back and you will find the course on starboard side.. According to another member there are no starting Gates and you need to power turn at the end of the course.
Big Cedar is gorgeous place.

From Cambell point head towards Shell Knob Bridge and Pizza Hut. Keep going around a port bend and a slight starboard bend and then head straight south to the St James Arm. You will see a scout camp on starboard side of cove when you enter. Go a few miles down to Viola and I think 21 or 3 turns after it and it will be on starboard side. Watch out for stumps and logs down there.
The Campbell Point area south usually has butter during the week if no major winds. Have a ton of fun.

For a nice cruise head down the Lake towards Kimberling City and then to the Dam area. Just after Kimberling City you will find a big Green Glass house on top of a hill. It is a family residence and I have been told of one of the Branson entertainers. The Cruise to the dam area is nice and you will see a paddle boat down there, maybe para sailing and some rougher water because traffic exists in that area and it is open lake subject to wind. You van also go further down the lake into Arkansas. Nice Ozark scenery.

[QUOTE=21TigeToGo;193395] Watch out for stumps and logs down there.
When we were there a couple of weeks ago I dinged the prop on a small log. No visible damage and we enjoyed the rest of the day but had a minor vibration. Bought a new Acme 525 from Wakeside and had the damaged one rebalanced for $80.
