Speakers ?

I have the stock clarion cm1622 6-1/2 100 watt coaxial speakers in my 04 22i hooked up to the xmd3 stereo and the speakers do not seem to handle the power that the stereo is putting out. Has anybody else had this problem and are there any recommendations to what speaker to replace them with?

Turn the bass down. They can't handle the bass.

Then what about the bass going to the sub?

don't you have an amp for your sub? I run my head unit at -6 bass and +6 treb, and my sub amp at half on and the sub is so loud. Your rca outputs should be seperate from your head unit. and give a full range of signal.

Dom, is that with the "custom" setting on the head unit ? And yes I do have a separate amp for the sub.

Has anyone tried installing bass blockers?

Dom, thanks, I adjusted the bass and treble like you said and it sounds ALOT better. I will still be replacing the clarions.
