I am having trouble with the depth finder on my 07 RZ it reads 997.4 ft 95% of the time but does occasionaly read the propper depth. but after a few secconds reverts back. Anyone have a similar problem and a possible solution. Any imput would be appreciated.

Your transducer may no longer be epoxied tight to the bilge.

Do you have ballast?

I do have ballast. So am I also correct in assuming the transducer is next to the bilge? Thanks

The tri-ducer should be located on the starboard side of the hull, below the engine/trans bell-housing. It reads speed, depth, and water temp.

Do you have factory installed ballast or aftermarket?

the ballast is factory

the ballast is factory

Well then, if you look under your boat you might notice that the ballast pick up is causing turbulence for the transducer making the depth finder go crazy.

Who's idea was that?

That should definitely be a warranty repair.

Mines does the same, but i assumed it was due to the depth was greater then the limits of the depth finder. What is the max depth that the depth finders can read?

It's usually several hundred feet.

mine only does it when i'm on plane. It reads fine when i'm going slow. I figure it too fast to get a reading

Then it's definitely the turbulence, the faster you go, the worse it will get.
