i could careless i still plain on buying a rz2 in the near future and i like the new tower...
Welcome to the Tige family outkastz! Either with a Malibu or a RZ2. Your comments are always welcome.
I think whom ever started the thread put a picture of a Tower with a bimini which makes the tower look a lot like the bu's. Some other posted a link of Matt's post that show the tower without the binimi and some agreed that there were some innovation to the tower.
Some even said that they like the lights design and speakers mount... WOW!
But, what a bunch of winners! To say that the Tige tower would diminish the brand recognition!

Yeah, the flames are starting to happen at WW too. Was wondering how long it would take.

It's kind of funny reading what some of those Malibu Morons posted over there. One guy says 'Tige sucks' but gives no support to his 'claim...probably just a keyboard commando trying to rationalize why he has a 1999 model 'Bu and make himself feel better. Tige will be gone in three years?
Please.
Posts like those just crack me up. I'd rather salvage a Bayliner than buy a Malibu.

That whole thread makes me worry about civilization in general. I'm here to learn things from guys who've had boats for years, that know how to fix things, that have tips on enjoying your time on the water. The guys that take the time to write a blog about how they are going to pull up beside the guy in the Tige & mock him for copying BU. These are the people that we should be worried about being possible teachers to our kids and/or people in places of influence on our children. I mean really, why not pull your c$%k out and judge who's is bigger too, while you're at it. Should every guy that drives a ford pull up to the guy in the chevy/dodge and tell him to F#$k off cuz ford made the first truck? Or the lawyer that takes the time to write his blog about how he's researching to see if Tige has infringed on any patent laws against BU. I'm glad i'm not one of the tax payers paying for that retard to research wake boat towers rather than focusing putting rapists in jail. Personally i'm not that big of a fan of the new look, and I do think the overall looks of the boats are too close to Bu's look, but it wouldn't stop me from buying a new one. Hell my next boat may very well be a Bu, or MC, or a Naut. I was one signature away from buying a BU myself. They all make great boats, it's just what your preference is at the time, what worked for your needs, what you had to spend, and what service you were getting. That was a rant, I'm gonna step off the soapbox now.

I don't give a crap what they say. They can say all they want but Metcraft gave them the chance at this tower and the Bu management turned them down. Metcraft went to Tige and Charli said "go for it". Bu's lose is our gain. :)

I agree maximus2003. "They all make great boats, it's just what your preference is at the time, what worked for your needs, what you had to spend, and what service you were getting."
Well said!
Of all the comments made on that forum the one that stood out to me was how Tigé "has no new ideas and just rips off other companies and does a lot of marketing." (Post #24 from J-Ro)
I remember when Tigé dropped the hook off the transom and installed TAPS. They were ridiculed and lost their AWSA certification. Now that is breaking the trend and every other manufacturer has some sort of device back there. I think the motto at Tigé is build a boat how the customer will use it and don't worry about what the others will say. Was Tigé the first to widen the beam as well?
Buy what you will enjoy and enjoy your boat, whatever it is. :02:

Well I'm glad that we Tige Owner's don't just follow the crowd and lower ourselves to that level of childish pissing and moaning. Let them think what they will, you know what they say about opinions. Now, onto better discussions.

Anyone know if Tige was the first to use the wake plate (TAPS) on a wakeboard boat?
EDIT - finally read that thread over there, they have done no research at all on the towers and know nothing about it (obviously). Did you see the comment on the steering cables sitting in water? Does anyone here ever get water in their bilge because I sure don't.

The one thing that cracks me up about that thread is it shows the lack of knowledge they really have about the markets. One guy finally said that it is not a Malibu Tower. It is a Met-Caf tower. The patents are held by Met-caf. He can sell his tower to any boat manufacture he chooses unless he signed and exclusive contract with a company like Malibu. But any good business person would know better than to do that. Those guys truly do not understand the way the business market works and they are making them selves look bad.
In defense of them though I can understand there frustration as that tower has always identified the Malibu. So they have that right to be a little upset.
As for the guy that says he would pull up to a TIGE' on the lake and tell them how gay there boat looks with that tower and harass the TIGE' owner. I am assuming that he thinks his boat and tower are gay also? The first one to throw the punch in the looser. I would think with all the professional people that own Malibu's they would have a more professional manner to how they talk about this change with TIGE'.
Best wishes to the Malibu guys and again I understand there frustration but it is very possible that this tower may also end up on the Supra's, Moobus, Centurions Etc Etc. Met-Caf is not going to quit selling his product because the Malibu Guys want it to be exclusive to Malibu. He is in business to make money and he builds a very nice tower.

The thing I've noticed the most is Tige owners never really bash other brands for trying new ideas. It's all about progression just like wakeboarding, because one guy does a new trick show not mean that no one can do that trick. Extreme sports are the only athletes that want other athletes to do good and push the envelope to progress the sport. Its the same with the boats they need to push each other to make better boats. I'm not a big fan of the new tower but I do like it way more the the BU tower. Tige took something that many people liked and made it better.
Nice work Tigé!!!!!

....... The first one to throw the punch in the looser. ....
Say what you like, anybody that would seriously pull up to the side of somebody's boat just to say something stupid like "you're boat is gay" really needs a heapin' helpin' of humility!! I am honestly not sure if I would laugh or get angry, but I know that a good old fashion a@@ kicking would shut the idiot up and from my estimation he'd learn a valuable life lesson. I'd probably have to beat the hell out of him, but alas, I doubt he'd come up to me....an idiot like that has to say something to a person who poses no competition like a much older or younger person. I'd place bets that moron was the school bully--and everybody knows what a bully needs to stop being a bully. Yup, that first beat down; and that starts with the first punch.

The pictures they are refering to on that wake origin site make the tige look like it is sitting so low in the water. They must have a boat load of weight or something. I know that my 24v sits much higher then that as the hook is always out of the water.

I like the tower and the picklefork.I also like the overall shape of the boat but what I don't like is the tacky interior vinyl and stickers. If they would do that boat with a solid white interior and a solid white body it would look killer. As for them stealing from others they are stealing something that has already been stolen many times so who is in the wrong?

I find it completely impressive that no one has posted a retaliatory remark since 3pm, eastern time, when FIC posted his good points. I have to say that second runner up to a tige when we were looking was a bu, the dealer was very nice, but the boat did not warrant the extra cost. Given, I could probably get the malibu for about the same as the tige now because of the economy. I think I made the right decision, I love the boat, I love the service I get form my dealer. I say it all the time, the dealer makes the experience of boat ownership great or horrible. I was very glad to see several of the bu crew saying some good things about the boats.

Which shop is yours???
If your ever around the metro area lakes and see another Tige feel free to say hi. There's not many of us, and I know pretty much everyone w/ one around here. We're all pretty friendly. I'm in a white/grey 24V for a VERY short while. Then the 09 all black 22Ve.

It's always something. People who get caught up in this sort of thing are small minded. Who cares what your in so long as your out having fun in some sort of educated, responsible manner. I was just helping my neighbor get his 16', 4 banger Bayliner ready for their first trip out. I'm just stoked to have boaters for neighbors.

We'll see.... hasn't even been built yet. I only know where Foss is out of all of those...haha. We're usually at dirty bird, arcadia, or draper. Then also Tenkiller.
After reading the Malibu owners comments, I'd just like to say "what a bunch of whiners!"
BTW, I haven't had a chance to ride behind the RZ2 yet (a friend of mine just bought an 07) due to ACL replacement but one of my good friends who was a Tige' basher rode behind the RZ2 and now has become a Tige' fan. He said that it has the absolute best wake ever. He was so excited about another friend of his who had bought a new BU this spring... he said it's a sad disappointment compared to the RZ2!!!
Take that you Maliboohoo whiners.
